I choose 4 weeks on average. Although it's probably more like 6. Maintenance is the key for me. Just cleaned my atty last night and the clouds of vapor let me know it's worth the effort.

My first 510 came witha TITAN atomizer....that was 3 months ago, used it every day for 2 months before buying two more....i rotate them weekly....Absolutely no maintaining of any kind, they all work as good as the first day i got them. One of them is a Burnall atomizer. Aside from that no differance.
I think the biggest key to atomizer life is not overheating them and burning them dry.
Mine never vaped at all and that was only 5 days ago? Heh?
I find my 510s last 2-3 weeks (i rotate 2, and one always dies about 3-4 weeks in, so id guess 2-3 weeks each). The cost atty wise is about the same as far i worked it out (for 510 and 808), but considering you get a new atty for just one flavor, so no flavor mixing/blowing out and you dont have to buy carts (the carts do get loose ect after a while) 808 has to win in my book.
My wife and I started vaping July 24 2009. I've gone trough five Atty's. My wife has not lost one. We both direct drip with no cart filling. My wife basically keeps liquid in it to the point it gurgles as she is vaping. She also blows vapor through the atomizer and the inhales repeatedly until she gets enough of a hit. Right or wrong she has gotten almost 4 months out of her atty's. I'm not sure why I lose so many. I'll just pick my ecig up after sitting for a while and the atty is stone cold. Any advice out there?
It would be a big help when discussing atomiser life if people say how much liquid they vape in a day - week etc.
I'm going on 3 weeks now. I've cleaned the atty twice and it performs like a champ.
For a side note we both use 510's I go through 30 Ml every 2 weeks my wife goes through abou 2/3 of that. Neither on of us cleans them. I gave up on that when I found it had no effect on atty Life.
Well, its been months since you posted this, so this is rather late, but maybe other newcomers will take note. You pulled out the wick. Now some say it does not matter, but I say they were very lucky. I did the same to a couple of mine in the beginning, out of ignorance, and the totally wicked black attys (sounds like a deadly snake!) I got in one batch of 5 had a LOT of wick that was getting clogged all the time, even without fluid! So I pulled out the wick, knowing it was a gamble. That atty vaped like a monster, better than I thought a 510 could EVER be! I mean voluminous billows and massive hit, flavor through the roof! For 20 minutes. Then died, cold, dead, history, archives, ex-atty. Man, when I die, I sure hope its like that...top of my game, brilliant, energized, then just drop dead.
So the lesson is, boys and girls, don't pull out the wick! I don't know why that atty became the uber-atty for several minutes, but the end result was death. If they could keep working like that, I would pay $20 a piece for them, but it didn't. Since then I have learned much about fillers, liquid thickness (VG-only is too thick), and general care. 90% of wick pulling discussed here lead to death very quickly if not immediately. It must pull out some connection to the battery or something. Perhaps the wick is looped around a microwire. Dunno. Don't do it!
