Analog smoking technique and vaping techniques?

So I had a chat with three of my friends lastnight who also vape and one of my friends asks, What's your vaping technique? Do you draw it into your mouth and then inhale or do you just draw it straight to your lungs?" and the other friend says that he just vapes directly to his lungs, like a hookah.

I was instantly floored by this and said, "You're supposed to vape it like a cigarette, into the mouth, then into the lungs... Not straight through."

That's when the first friend who asked suddenly replied, "Wait, you smoked the same you vape? That's not right either..."

A long discussion suddenly ensued about how you're supposed to smoke a cigarette and both of my friends concluded that I was weird and that normal people who smoked, would draw the smoke directly into their lungs and not into their mouth first...

Can I get a general consensus on how you guys vape and how you guys used to smoke?

I just voted #1, 'Vaping: Draw to mouth, then lungs. Smoking: Same'. I certainly always smoked that way. OTOH, sometimes when I vape I draw to mouth, exhale through nose a bit, finish draw to mouth, then lungs. I think it depends on the flavor I'm vaping - got some MadVapes 'Coffee' in a Vision Stardust right now that does really well this way!

I directly inhale to my lungs just like when I was smoking cigarettes.

I was absolutely astounded when I found out that some people smoked by inhaling into the mouth first.
I had never heard of doing that, and I was not aware that somebody would do such a thing.

Maybe it's because I learned to smoke by smoking other things.
I mean like hookah. Yeah. That's what I mean.
