Crushable eliquid cartridges

Some great ideas, copied over here from an inappropriate marketing thread about Camel Crush cigarettes....

Due to my recent conversion to drip smoking only, I'm convinced e-cigarette makers need to look closely at this.

I think what we need instead of cartridges that contain "a pack's worth of smoking" are cartridges that contain about 2 or 3 drops of e-liquid in a capsule. In my admittedly limited experience with drip smoking, 2-3 drops equal about a cigarette's worth of smoking. So, with cartridges like this, you'd just pop in a new one, give a squeeze, push a button, or whatever to break the capsule, release the liquid into the atomizer, and then enjoy your cigarette's worth of nicotine puffing.

This would give the cartridges the self-limiting nature that some of people miss about regular cigarettes, and it'd take care of the problem of cartridge fibers getting stuck in the atomizer, producing nasty tastes, smells, and potential health concerns.

Yeah! Great idea. You get an e-cig with rechargable batteries and everything. But the refills you buy... They're sold like a pack of tic-tacs. You take one out, put it in your e-cig, push a button the side of the cig (It would crush or dissolve the capsule) and you get 1 cig worth of smoke. You could even buy them in more familiar cigarette nicotine strength. Like light cigarettes have what, .5mg of nicotine? You would buy a pack of .5mg capsules.
You put the e-cig back in your pocket when it stops making smoke. That way there's no leaking and it's easier to change flavors.

I want one of those.

These ideas sound quite interesting, but I don't quite agree with the idea of having to use more cartridges / capsules than we already do. It can't cost a lot to produce them, but surely making more little pieces of plastic for the same job is a bit pointless? Are you meaning that the capsules dissolve entirely? What could the liquid be contained in that wouldn't be toxic when inhaled?

I do like the theory though - at least for the convenience - changing cartridges can be a bit fiddly.

I think the idea of a gel-capsule might cut down on costs. A more permanent type of mouthpiece could be devised, wherein the capsules are inserted into it, puncturing them in the process. After smoked, you could even toss them onto the ground, as they are water permeable. So all you would have to carry around with you is your e-cig and a little container of these capsules.

i was just thinking of something similiar too like a cart similiar to the penstyle carts. it would encircled by a bolt like feature as you rotate it wouldpush more liquid out. would mean that one cart could be similiar to a packs worth

Haha, that's funny- out at the convenience store today, saw an ad for camel's new cigarette of the month. It's called camel crush, apparently has some sort of crushable capsule inside that releases flavors (or extra poison?)- the poster showed some sort of green fumes coming out of it. Could this be the one from james bond?
