Product feature and design requests Please post any features you would like to see incorporated into e-cigarette technology in the future. Hopefully we can get the manufacturers to take notice.

One small worry that I have e-smoking is that people think it's some sort of illegal drug paraphernalia. Mainly because it stays the length of a full cigarette regardless of puffs. Here's an idea I had while thinking about this problem. It's still about the dimensions as the rn4081, so everything will fit, but it incorporates a faux cigarette holder to make the cigarette portion appear to be half smoked. So if any companies are out there reading this, please make one! edit *Heck I guess I don't need a company to make one, maybe I'll try the conversion myself. ![]() ![]() Last edited by jarvis; 07-24-2008 at 08:46 AM.

Boy, if all e-cigs looked like that, Jarvis, the anti-tobacco crowd would completely freak out. And the last time the FDA considered a nicotine-replacement device, it worried that it looked "too much like a real cigarette." I think if Ruyan moves devices away from the look of a real cig, as it has said it might, e-smoking has a better chance of acceptance at both governmental and social levels. Only smokers want e-cigs to look like cigs. And what smokers want doesn't count for squat these days.

I agree with you completely TropicalBob, and will probably buy one of the devices that have different color l.e.ds to smoke in public were smoking isn't allowed. If e-smoking is going to be accepted by the non smokers it should stay as far away from the look of a cigarette as possible. Perhaps they could make them look like little trumpets or frappucinos so that the non smokers don't freak out. Last edited by jarvis; 07-20-2008 at 01:58 AM.

I'm thinking .. stylish but different. There was a thread called Pipe Dreams, where we looked at different designs (I showed a photo of the Pipoo) and Ruyan said it was dealing with Nicopipe. The new e-cigs from GreenCig -- ones aimed at women -- are very attractive and striking. They would never be mistaken for a real cigarette. Let some free-thinking young artists work on this -- like designing a car, they have to work to the constraints of electronics molding their form -- and see what they come up with. We might like them even better than your very attractive half-smoked cig (it looks great!).

![]() And we thought Ruyan was overpriced! Hey maybe this could turn into a concept design thread for e-cigarettes. Anyone else want to draw one up? *edit* I'll change the title of the thread* Last edited by jarvis; 07-20-2008 at 08:57 AM. | |

We need you to go to work immediately for JantyUSA or some company with the guts to be a leader, not an imitator. Those are great looking designs, Jarvis. You're the artist I was writing about. Ruyan, hire this guy! Knutselpeter gave us vapor; Jarvis can give the world style.
