    Default Non Sound Sensitive Auto-Activation

an auto-activated battery that is not sensitive to loud music or wind. either pneumatic or an airflow sensor that can discern between the sound of a draw and environmental sound.

I think the problem is that the pneumatic switches tend to stick which may be worse than random activation. One of my 4081 batteries sticks in the on state sometimes and it's a pain.

yeah i figured something like that was the reason they're rare now.

but one way or another we need a better mousetrap, either a debugged pneumatic or a re-calibrated and more discerning sound sensor.

i mean, the ability to smoke in non-smoking areas is one of the perks of a PV, and bars and clubs are at the top of the list of places where people love to smoke but can't. bars and clubs everywhere have been hit hard in the pocketbook we could prolly get owners' associations to finance the research!

this is a wish list, so that's my wish. how to do it, i have no idea. but programming technology probably holds the key. heck the gov can detect via a mic aimed at your window what keys you're hitting on your computer just based on the electromagnetic radiation generated by the different keys, so surely technology exists to discern a puff from other sounds.

We've not long ago redesigned our automatic sensor to have virtually 0 false activations (e.g blowing into it, dropping it, heck even putting it to a fan won't activate it).

It's doable, eventually everyone will have something similar.
