It is? All the electronics are sealed? The battery sleeve is vented but that should be ok since the batteries themselves are sealed. The atomizer itself would have to be open to the air and so water but that's to be expected. All the contacts are such that exposure to water or excessive moisture won't accelerate rust/corrosion? That would be really cool.

All I know is that the maker (Caesar) got mud on his and he described and recommended this:

"Mine has landed in water yesterday. I washed it very well to get all the mud out then put it in the oven at 110C (100-120C should work well) for 30min.
Let it cool another 15min. and it worked like new.

I would try the alcohol first. Then the method described above.
You can also let it soak in alcohol or water overnight without any issues. It will work again after drying.
Just don't heat it over 150C."

So you can make your own assumptions from that.

I'm in the US Army and one of my two projects that I'm working on is an "Army Strong" PV. I want one that is going to float, is self contained and looks awesome. Any design is going to be vunerable to water getting in the atty so my idea is to add a waterproof area to the box to hold one extra atty in case of a drop. Also a stopper/cover for when I'm not vaping so that if I drop it then it is completely water/mud/dirt/sand proof. When I get one built I'll post results in this forum.

well if the switch is properly isolated on a manual battery it would make the atomizer effectively passive unless the user was pressing the button, and disconnected atomizers don't seem to have any issue with water whatsoever so long as they get dried off before they're put back on the battery, so with mechanical internal switch on a waterproof manual battery you'd have a waterproof ecig, right?

I took my silver bullet down a muddy sandy river this year. had sand all up in the switch, and it got wets too.

Still works flawlessly.....

I have two stories regarding the AdapteveR mod. I have three in my household that me, my husband and son use, and my sister has one as well. Last weekend my sister was on the beach picking up shells and put her AdapteveR in the top of her bathing suit. Well, she ended up in the water swimming and whatnot. She suddenly realized what she did and ran out of the water, dried it off and it fired right up. She put a new carto on it and it worked perfectly.

I also had my own water mishap with my AdapteveR. I went into the bathroom at work and before I could put it on the counter, I dropped it in the toilet. In a nano second, I reached in and plucked it out. I quickly took the carto off and threw it away. Dried the outside of the unit off then opened it up. Nothing inside the unit was wet. I went back to my office and put a new carto on and it fired up flawlessly.

I also saw a clip on YouTube where a guy named Crash put his in a glass of water and it worked afterwards. If you want to see the clip, just search AdapteveR on YouTube. With four AdapteveRs working within my family and the three times I have actually seen one of these units go into water and come out functioning perfectly, I can say that it's probably as waterproof as you're going to find. I'd also like to add that I have been using my device since September of last year and it has NEVER given me a bit of trouble.
Look into the AdapteveR. It's a great mod. Best of luck on your quest.
