    Default Car Holder for Prodigy?

Has anyone come up with a good secure method for holding their Prodigy in place while driving? I did a search looking for the one I *thought* was for the Prodigy, the Duck brand Grip-It Grabber, but turns out that's for NORMAL e-cigs..hehe The Prodigy would be too fat to fit.

I had to go to the Detroit airport yesterday, a 4-hr drive each way. What a miserable thing...rush hour traffic, car in front of me slams on breaks, I do the same, Prodigy goes flying from my central console to the passenger side floorboard.../sigh This happened several times, either from traffic coming to a dead stop for no reason at all!!! (people can be stupid...lol) or just switching from one freeway to another at moderate speeds (really I'm not a maniac!) My old (and substandard!) e-cig would fit on the central console in the little groove between my gearshift and the molding around it. The Prodigy just loves to zing out of that spot and onto the floor if I don't grab quick enough.

I can't really HOLD it the entire 8 hours, and even with trips to Detroit aside, I spend a good many hours in my car each week driving to school. Would LOVE some sort of secure way of stowing it close to hand without having to dismantle it and go vapeless for the journey, or store it where I can't even reach it safely while driving...

I'm thinking something to stick to my center console, or even my dash if necessary, to hold it in place but still allow me to use it during the trip. Something like the Grip-It would be perfect -- if they made one big enough for my Prodigy.

I'm thinking Velcro might rock this- you know those velcro cable wrappers? Maybe try wrapping those around the Prodigy (since they come right off) and maybe glue a small piece of velcro to the dash to hold it in place?

Well, I have the perfect solution . . . found it at my local gas station:

    Cell Phone Cup® - Black

The material is slightly squishy, so it has some give.

In the photo, you'll see a few different slots. The back slot (shown with a cell phone) is where I put the Prodigy. It fits in there perfectly.

The middle slot (shown with a green iPod looking thing) is where I put my PS passthrough . . . yup, there's enough room to put the passthrough on one side, kind of snake part of the cable underneath and then off to the side.

The slot shown with a pen is where I put my mouth piece when I need a spot to hold it while I'm dripping. And next to that is a small slot that I don't really use, although you could stuff some cartridges in there.

Yeah, I know . . . I need to take a photo of it with all my e-cig stuff in there, but you're talking to a woman who has to get help from her 16 year old to take photos with her cell phone.

Case Logic Automotive Catch-All > Automotive Organization > Case Logic

I originally bought this for my first iPod. Since then it has, at one time or another, held my sunglasses, my cellphone, my ecigs, my passthroughs, you name it.

Edit for Just Julie's post: NICE SITE! The cup holder thing didn't work for me tho because my cupholders are up too close to the dash. They are pretty useless.

    Some really awesome suggestions, thanks!

I like that cup thing you use, Julie. Unfortunately the makers of my car were pretty much idiots, and my only cupholders happen to be in the door of my glove box. DUH??! hehe To use them I have to open my glove box (which would make one HELL of a mess if I had to stop or get outta the way in a hurry) and reach from the driver's seat to the other side of the car to use them. Needless to say I don't use them much, and if I drink in my car it's something covered that I can hold between my legs while driving lol (Ie, a soda in bottle not can)

I did consider the velcro though...even thought maybe the small dots you can buy that are sticky on one side, velcro on the other. Then I figured ugggh, permanent sticky velcro on my Precious?? Better look further...hehe

I think what I'm gonna go with is this ---

Amazon.com: HandStands iGadget Grips for iPods: Electronics

That should make my Prodigy stay in the most convenient place for me -- right beside the shifter on my center console. I'll stick them to the car instead of my Prodigy, though. A long thin strip looks like it'll fit on the molding of the trim around the shifter perfectly.

Then maybe I'll get that softsided vent cup for stuff like my cell phone and juice...hehe Then my cell phone and juice and other assorted weirdnesses can quit zinging around my car too! Can you tell my Prodigy is more important than my cell phone?? It's been zinging around my car for years...LOL Never bothered to find a way to keep it from doing so
