Default Bad 801 Pen Style Atomizers from Pure Smoker

I'm kind of disgusted. This past June, when I got my Prodigy and USB PT from Pure Smoker, I also purchased 18 pen style/801 atomizers. At around $10 each, that's about $180 spent on atomiers. I figured they would get me through at least a year. However, within a couple days of use, every single one of them has died.

After a few weeks, I was pretty convinced I'd received a bad batch of atomizers. I emailed Pure Smoker and was told they have a 7-day return policy. I was out of luck. Oh well...live and learn.

So, I got some atomizers direct from China. Every single one of them has worked great for a good month or more.

That being said, I'm very pleased with the Prodigy and the USB PT (I spend way too much time at my computer and use the PT a LOT.) I'll never use another regular e-cig again, and have gobs of 801 batteries stashed in a drawer. They are just so weak and unreliable. They make me so frustrated, I'm tempted to go light up a cigarette. I would recommend Pure Smoker's Prodigy and PT to anyone wanting to give up tobacco.

But I gotta say, those Pure Smoker atomizers were a huge waste of money. Never again.

Hmmm, You must have been doing something wrong if you killed 18 in a row after 2 days on each. I have been using Atty's from PS since Feb, and haven't any unusual problems with hardly any of them.

unfortunately i'd have to agree with Gibby. killing 18 atomizers in a row is pretty record breaking.

Yeah, i even thought long and hard about something that could have been causing your stuff, but nothing. You say other atty's work, but PS's don't.

I don't know, i don't take very good care of my atty's at all, and they all last an acceptable amount of time.

Thanks for posting about the Prodigy and USB. I am looking at various products to improve mine and my hubby's experience(He is at the "To hell with this PV stage" after messing with various 801 attys(None from PS, yet). I will most likely be buying two Prodigy's, a 510 and 801 along with parts and juice within the next 3 weeks. If futher research turns up nothin' better for us.

As far as the attys you bought, that sucks really bad! Dumb question but, have you tried cleaning them or anything? Seems like a big amount to go shot within a couple days of use. I'd be so upset.

Did you try them when you got them or did you wait and pull them out over time as each fizzled? Just curious as I hear good reviews on their Prodigy and in general.

Curious to hear others experience with PS 801 atomizers before placing my near future order for atty's too.

Glad to hear you found something that works out for you.

I haven't had any issues with the 801 atty's from PS. I use my 801's strictly on the prodigy, and PS PT, and no problems whatsoever.

You've spent enough with Pure Smoker that it seem like you need to get someone there to actually look at your situation rather than simply quote policy. Do the owners know about your plight? I know they have a reputation for being a conscientious vendor.

Which Chinese company did you deal with? There are so many.

Nine of the 18 atomizers died - still have 9 that I haven't used yet. 4 days tops on the first 9 though. I don't treat them differently than the "straight from China" atomizers that last a lot longer. These were all purchased in June - maybe a bad batch? I don't know. I'm just scared to buy more from Pure Smoker after this.

Michelle - now that I'm 6 months into vaping, I'll tell you what I'd do differently if I knew then what I know now. I'd skip the 801-901 supplies and just get a Prodigy. I don't know anything about the Protege - it's probably a wonderful thing too. And if you spend much time in one place, the USB PT is great too. I have a powered USB hub that's plugged in next to my lounge chair in front of the TV, so I'm "wired" most of the time at home. I use the Prodigy when I leave the house.

What you are probably getting is be112 vs. steve's dse801 or whatever its called.

Not that there is an origin etched into the atomizers from PS, but if there were i would put a few atomizers on the etching saying "Made in China" or "Made on the island that china used to own, and kinda still do, but they handle their own business, but not really lord knows"... there you go.

There are several posts of people arguing about which is better atty's from PS or BE112.

The conclusion was "Heh, to each his own".

i agree with not getting anymore reg e-cig supplies, the prodigy, regardless of what atomizer you get is gonna do the trick. Or a PT for when you are veggin on the couch, chair, computer, etc etc.

    Just my take.

I bought some BE112 (801) atomizers from bestecig.com. The first one I used is still going strong almost three months later.
