Has any one tried using other batteries such as 3.7volt -2200mAh or 2x RCR 3volt 750mAh or other with success on the Puresmoker Protege?

I'm not familiar with the workings of the Protege.

However... a CR2 is a 15270... therefore its 15mm in diameter and 27mm long. Two of those stacked would be equal to a 15520. (all measurements are "roughly") That comes out to 1mm wider and 2 mm longer than your 14500.

The spring on the battery cover could probably cope with the extra 2mm length, but depending on how tight a fit the 14500 is as far as diameter, you may not be able to squeeze a 15mm wide batter into the case.

All you major big box stores will carry the cr2 batteries as they are very popular in cameras. Pick up a couple and give it a try.

    !!! Note:
    1. I don't know the workings of the Protege. There could me volt regulator?
    2. I highly suggest you only use protected cr2 batteries. Good luck finding protected cr2's.
    3. 2 CR2 batteries would be 6V!

CR2s won't fit. Get a BB, GG Grant, or SuperT Super-Six if you want a mod with a choice between 14500 and CR2s. Otherwise you're looking at much larger mods that allow for a 18650/CR123a option.

Also the SuperT1 and Adaptever can run 2 cr2s but need additional sleeves.

Protege is built with 14500 (14mm x 50mm x 0==circular) batts in mind. not much else will fit without doing your own improv (and then share it here please )

Not sure where you'd put/fit an resistor (interior OR exterior)????
