Can you mirror polish stainless?
I did one of my Prodigys and it's beautiful. I may have to break out the buffer Sunday and giver a go. It's stainless, can't hurt it... If it turns out good I'll post pics.. |

You can polish SS but it's a very hard metal compared to aluminum and will require more buffing. Don't mess up the etched logo too.

The logo is recessed. When i did the Prodigy it didn't even get near the black inlay.
Here's a pic. It's not Bandit quality but the beauty shines thru. |

I'm not so sure the logo on the Protege is recessed. I think it's laser bonded to the surface using a metal marking compound. But I could be wrong.

Oh yes, you can mirror polish stainless (look at knives, watches, steel flatware, etc).
Your Prodigy looks AWESOME!! I wish mine was polished now!!!! I have no tools, talent, or patience to attempt that myself. And if you polish the Protege, you'll buff off the PS logo, it is applied on the body, not recessed like on the Prodigy.

That's f-in' SWEET. When i first heard purple,I dismissed the idea, but now that I see it... DAMN. Steve should really consider some custom work. I think most of us would pay an extra $30, $50 for a truly custom Protege, Prodigy....

Purple looks great but it needs the button and endcap a different color. Gold or titanium maybe.
