I'm curious about how many of you have the goal of quitting nicotine altogether by using ecigs vs. just trying to get off analogs and keep right on with the nicotine?! In other words, are you trying to quit everything, or just the tobacco? I view ecigs as nicotine replacement, not as a "quit smoking" product. Thanks.

I love e-cig and I am a nicotine addict. I just wanted to give up analogs. Not nicotine. I hope to be able to vap for ever. |

I THINK that ultimately its about both for me. For now, not smoking has been the goal and I can't believe how easy its been to not light up. I don't monitor how much I vape or what nic levels. Its all about no cigarettes. In a while I will start paying attention to how much nicotine I vape and begin to taper it off. When all is said and done, nicotine isn't all that good for us and we're probably better off vaping 0 nic liquids. One step a time.

I started vaping over 4 months ago and have not had a regular cigarette since. I have been gradually reducing my nicotine level. I went from 24mg to 18mg and now I'm down to 11mg. But I love my e-cig and would probably still use it even if I manage to get down to 0 nic.

Oooooh, you would be a perfect candidate for my question being that you're a few months ahead of me. <g> Did you notice a significant decrease in throat hit in each drop-off of nicotine? I'm trying to get a handle on this. Thanks, Terrie. (nice name, btw. 'tis my Mom's name and my sister's) =) | |

Been vaping for about a 5 weeks now. Unfortunatly have only been analog free for 8 days at this point. Its been pretty hard so far as my fiance and roommate both still smoke I get really bad cravings every time they go out back to smoke however I get reminded of one of the reasons i wanted to quit when they come back inside smelling of stale ashtrays *bleh*. I do eventually want to be Nic free due to blood pressure issues but right now Im happy to be analog free. Finally starting to feel a little better. Just this morning I notice while brushing my teeth I dont have that gnarly morning breath funk coating my tongue ![]() Question to anyone that can help my future in quiting nic. Have any of you found a good method for cutting down on the nic? Something like every week/2weeks/month cut the dose or anything along those lines. Thanks everyone -Ken |

I do not want to give up nicotine, but I have lower the concentration of it. I started with 18mg of nicotine and since I like to vap all day long (I keep my e-cig in my mouth all the time) I just cut the nic to 6 or 8 mg. I did it on my second week and I think I will stay there for ever.

Eventually I want to cut down to either very very low, or 0 nicotine, but I don't see me giving up the vaping habit. It's a social thing for me, and I enjoy it too much to give up entirely. I have noticed that I'm cutting down a lot on my vaping, just like everyone says, without even really trying. That habit of, "I'll have a cigarette, and then I'll...(insert activity here) is slowly being broken; I'm not measuring time by smoke breaks any more. I think that's one of the greatest strengths of this method -- since I can pull it out of my pocket any time I want, it's on my mind a lot less. Does that make sense?

On cutting down on the nic. I alternate between 16 mg DIY juice and some 0 nic RY4 I got from Heaven's Gifts. The RY4 gives me the throat hit and does satisfy me. I hope to get to the point that the DIY I'm making is all 0 nic. But I'm not pushing myself on that point...I'm just tickled pink to be off analogs. |
