I feel like I can't breathe when I quit analogs, I understand my lungs are clearing themselves out and getting used to regular air but it becomes really unbearable sometimes. I felt like this earlier tonight and just bought 2 packs of analogs because I feel like I'm dying when this happens. I know that nicotine is a stimulant and causes vasodialation in the lungs making it feel like it is easier to breathe right after having a cigarette but I don't believe the e-juice has nearly the same amount of nicotine as analogs. Tonight when I had a single analog after hours of vaping I felt that hit of nicotine, got quite dizzy as if I haven't had a cigarette in months. The past few days I haven't had any analogs but have been vaping constantly yet nothing happens as far as feeling the nicotine. I'm currently using 36 mg nicotine but still very little effects are felt .

That's not too far off the mark, I feel like I am suffocating. Your body is thowing a tantrum! You are suffering the effects of a very hard withdrawal. As you are already getting your nic fix, it must be the other 3999 chemicals in an analog that are rebelling. They are the ones that are suffocating, not you. Try taking a steamy shower, drink some coffee or tea. try to take your mind off analogs until your body catches up. Good luck and Welcome to ECF |

I had that suffocating feeling too, I just vaped more until it went away. I dont get it at all any more. I think Marykay is right, it must be some other chemical we are also addicted to in analogs.

One time I quit cold turkey and I would wake up in the night and couldn't breathe. It was a scary thing. I quit for three weeks and everyday have awful. Everyone said it was in my mind after a week. I say, bull. I also had a major panic attack and had to go to the hospital. After that happen, I got my cigs back. Than I was dizzy. I have not had any of this to happen to me,since vaping. I still smoke a few analogs, but that will stop soon. I am going to give myself time to adjust. Give my body time to get over all the chemicals in those analogs. Do not rush it. You will know, when it is time to quit analogs completely. Just vape and try not to smoke. If you feel like you need a analogs, just get one. Just try to vape alot more than analogs. |

Using 36mg. liquid you are probably getting far more nicotine than you get from tobacco cigarettes. You are probably getting a head rush from cigarettes because the multitude of poisons in them. If you can tough it out through the difficult part it WILL get easier to live without cigarettes. I smoked for almost 25 years and if you asked me last December I would have told you I can not imagine ever living without cigarettes. It was not without hurdles and sleepless nights. There were anxiety attacks and moments of weakness where I just wanted to smoke a cigarette more than anything in the world. It was not easy but now that I have gotten through that part things have gotten much easier. Don't give up, you CAN do it. DW |

It may be worth talking to your doc about the tightness in your chest - Mine gave me salbutamol (I don't suffer from asthma) and it controlled it very well - I only used it for a couple of weeks after quitting, until it passed.

Are you making sure you drink a lot of water? this helped me ALOT with that tight chest feeling. After about a week or a little more, it went away.

Always, always be kind to yourself. For what it's worth, I didn't focus on quitting analogs when I started vaping. Just started vaping. The number of analogs I smoked each day just gradually dropped off over the course of time. What I did focus on was this forum. Reading all the tips and tricks, anecdotes, failures and successes in order to get the most out of my PV's and the vaping experience. Drink plenty of water, perfect your cart refill methods and the perfect draw for your particular PV. Organize your PV supplies, find or make the ultimate carrying case, smoke one as it seems right and no worries.

Well said Old Dirt! The only reason I started vaping was so i could do it at work. The first morning anolog and after eating ones were still important but other times my PV did the trick. When I perfected the use of my 901, especially with a pass through, the anologs no longer interested me. Couldn't believe it after 35yr of smoking! Yoshi if the chest thing continues you should see the Dr. I didn't have any experience like that at all. PS anolog free since May 12th. All my best, dawn
