Talking Well Im amazed and how easy was the switch for you...

I have completely quit smoking analogs. I smoked one on the way to the mailbox to get my 510 and haven't looked back since. It's amazes me, I have never done this so easily. I made it one time for a month cold turkey. I had to fight and it was just a struggle to make it through the day. After a month, I couldn't take the cravings and fell back into the habit, and of course I said just one won't hurt. This was after 3 years of smoking. In the last 6-8 mos. I have tried quitting numerous times, most of the time not making it a day. Every payday this is going to be the last pack Im going to buy I swear. Later that afternoon I would be back at my gas station asking for a carton of Marlboro Reds in the box. The guy that usually waits on me would be like guess next week? Yep, next week and we would both laugh. Though for the last month or so I had honestly reached the point I was quitting on quitting and reached the point that I was going to be one of those iron lungs and die a smoker from one of the many awful diseases that cigarettes are PROVEN to cause, and funny enough it didn't bother me anymore. This is going to make me sound like a awful person, but I had a woman carrying one of those iron lungs and she said you had better quit those or you get one of these. I just looked at her and said big deal, I was really frustrated. She looked at me with a concerned but with a soft touch, which shocked me and said I understand. The reason I can say that I quit with such confidence and so blatantly is that I love my e-cig more than I could ever love analogs. I can smoke indoors, theyr'e stronger than the analogs, I don't stink, my car doesn't stink as bad (still trying to get rid of that smell), and did I mention I can smoke INDOORS. My boss loves it says it's nice, having someone not running outside every hour. I still got the smoker's cough and coughing up some weird looking stuff in the mornings, not sure how long either of these last (I know TMI.), though I feel like I can breathe so much better now already. I don't have to roll down the window in my car too smoke now, and did I mention I can smoke INDOORS. This transition has just been so easy for me. It would kill me if I had to go back to an analog.

P.S. Not trying to brag or rub it in, for people still having trouble with their analogs. I truly feel for you and hope you find your solution. I looked at that poll at the top of the page and that just amazes me that according to the poll 79% of the participants completely gave up analogs. What further amazes me is that the FDA is trying to ban them.

I still keep an analog cigarette at my computer desk just too have as a token of my personal victory...

I have been vaping for about three weeks now and I have found it fairly easy to switch to vaping and stop smoking tobacco cigarettes once I got the right equipment, 510, and liquid. Previously, I had only been able to stop smoking for brief periods of time using NRT gum and patches, and not easily! Not a newbie to smoking either. I smoked a pack and a half a day for 35 years.

I had a cigarette with a coworker the other day waiting for my e-cig battery to charge and I couldn't believe how nasty it tasted! I am also really starting to notice the smell of tobacco now. Again, nasty. However, I refuse to turn into one of those pain in the A$$ ex smokers. I just can't believe how bad it tastes and smells now.

I've only been vaping for...what...4 days now? ...Anyway. I had some "physical" withdrawals on the first day(body aches, cold feeling, general fatigue) but no real "desire" to have a smoke. I still have no desire to have one. There's the man and I's last, half gone pack sitting next to me (i got him into vaping too) and I haven't even contemplated smoking one...neither has he.

After the first day, the physical withdrawals stopped. And now, like June, I'm starting to realize how bad other smokers smell...The other day a smoker didn't even walk past me...he was just in the "general area" and I could smell him. It blew me away. I thought to myself "Good god! Did I used to smell like that?!??!

Over all...I think that the positives outweigh the negatives...I have no basis for comparison....yet...but I'd like to think that I would be able to weigh those negatives and positives IF I had a moment where I craved an analog....

I'll let ya'll know when that day happens

I've gone the hynosis route a few times for quitting analogs. It worked well, but something always drove me back to them - usually some kind of drama / trauma that made me grab them as something that I could rely on....

Anyway, I got my first e-cig early this week and haven't touched an analog since. The thing I had forgotten from the previous times I've quit was how fast your sense of smell and sense of taste come back. Especially the sense of smell. I can't believe how disgusting my car smells, and I hardly ever smoked in the car and never with the windows closed. If I need a single reminder of how foul cigarettes are, there it is.

Also, even when I was a half-pack a day guy I was a regular at the gym, but I knew that my cardio was holding me back. Already this week I can see how my pulse and respiration rates have dropped, and as a result I can do heavier lifts and more intense workouts. The positive mental feedback really makes dropping the analogs an easier thing to do.

The funny thing is I don't think I'm really hitting the e-cig very heavy. I love the flavor (Ecopure rich - 10 mg and 24 mg) but I don't feel the need to chain-vape or hit it more than even two times in a row. It's just an enjoyable way of getting that simulation of smoking without any noticeable physical effects. I really love it.

So, the project for my weekend: detail the interior of the car, including blasting it with Ozium, which really takes cigarette smell out of rooms and vehicles. They sell it at car parts places. I'm looking forward to putting all traces of the analogs in the past.

For the first 5 days or so I gave vaping a 4 out of 10 as a true smoking replacement but soon after it got better as I learned more and worked out the noob kinks. I would say within a week and half I was saying 7-8 out of 10. Now after almost 7 weeks I would say it's actually better as far as how I feel physically which makes me say it is more like an 10 out of 10 as a replacement. I really do feel like I have like an extra bounce in my step now. Although I will say dealing with hardware issues and such seems a bit of a burden at times which actually makes me vape a little less which I think may help me quit nicotine completely sometime. If you put at least 2 weeks of honest effort without using analogs I think about anyone could suceed but you should expect it to be a bit of a pain in the butt at first. You just have to get into the e-cig groove. I think this forum greatly helped me with the learning curve because it really is hard to find good knowledge on the subject elsewhere. When you think your first atty is dying and you panic that you might start smoking again because you only bought the starter pack with two of them in it, you will know what I mean.

I received a stealth from ss-choice last saturday with 5 catridges. as it was advertised on the site, the cartridges would last 15 to 20 Analogs each, I figured I'd have plenty of time to re-order once I tried it. After 28 years of smoking I was amazed at how it curved my need for an analog, I went the whole 1st night without even wanting a real cigarette. but to my dissapointment the cartridges ran out after about 2 analogs each. I ordered juice through the sight I had purchased my starter kit from and it did not say they where out of stock until after my purchase. (more dissapointment). Than I found my way to the forums here through google searches and wish I had all this info before hand. for the New to Vaping person there is allot of misleading advertisements out there that can really ruin the experience for a less patient than myself person. I wish all the reps and maufactuers out there would include a bottle of juice with every starter kit or at least suggest it to be purchased by flavor with your order to really give the people that are new to this amazing product a chance to experience it in its fullest.

Thanks to everyone here at the forums for all your information. I now have a new starter kit ordered, numerous juices from diferent suppliers, and extra Attys. I am Looking forward to the full experience in the next few days.

I quit within 48 hours of getting my Titan starter kit and juice (after smoking for around 25 years).

Somebody here has just said they felt like "they were cheating" because it was so easy, I agree, I also keep thinking that I am going to "wake up" any minute and realise it was all just a pleasant dream I was having!

Amazing invention - A genuine life/health saver as far as I am concerned.

For me, it took a little longer. I had my kit for months before I finally made a concerted effort to use it full time. At the time, I was smoking 10 cigarettes a day and using 6 to 8 pieces of nicotine gum or lozenges.

As it happens, I needed to have a tooth extracted in March and was told to avoid all nicotine for 48 hours afterwards. I had the tooth out on a Friday, and spent most of the next two days sleeping (without nicotine, I'm a zombie). On Monday, I began (gently) using the e-cigarette and the next day went back to (gently) chewing nicotine gum.

I was finding it a little hard to concentrate and noticed that my depression/anxiety levels were up somewhat, so I ordered some 24 mg liquid. That has worked for me. As of this writing I am at 7 months without tobacco.
