thanks for posting. my AW's are about a year old and i think ill try the Panasonic batts out.
I just purchased 2, had a bit of trouble with the website... but they are on the way right now!
Ok, got them in and they are on the charger, since they arrived at 3.60v
I did notice that Orbtronic raised the price by $1.08 to 10.99 now though...
Good thing I bought mine before the price change!
Ok, they charged up to 4.10 - 4.12 volts and I am vaping away right now. My understanding is that new batteries take a good 15 or so charges to get up to full speed, so I assume they will go up to 4.18-4.20 like my AW IMRs in a week or two, time will tell.
One thing I have noticed is that the overall length is identical to the AW IRMs, however the case on these panasonic batteries is 1mm longer and the positive nipple does not protrude as far as with the AW IMRs. In fact, the nipple on the Panasonic batteries is flush with the top of the case. This means the spring is in fact compressed 1mm more and that you have to depress the button 1mm more to get it to fire. This really isn't a big deal to me, as I feel there is still plenty of room for a spring collapse failure and I have a 3ml syringe cap on my button for comfort anyway.
I'll report back in a few days to give some idea on how long they last compared to the AW IMRs, but it won't be scientific. At 1600ma, the AW IMRs last me 1-1/2 days, so I am hoping these 2250ma Panasonics last 2+ days for me. Again, I expect them to start to perform better after 15 charge cycles.

The Panasonics with the ...CH at the end (stay away from the ...CG) are indeed good safe chemistry batteries, suitable for vaping. We are currently testing a range of IMR and NMC cells in the German community: You can find the testing here: RE: SabbelMR's IMR Akku-Probierrunde - 42 .
The important thing is that there ARE indeed alternatives to the AW brand, especially in the 18650 size: Panasonic CGR18650CH, BAK B18650CC, Sony US18650V3.
When reading the diagram (The second one titled "Messungen auf Hyperion..." is our result diagram) please refer to the violet part of the bars. That's the capacity at 5 Ampere result.
You might not be aware of the NMC chemistry - that is a hybrid of the classic IMR and the classic ICR, basically a safe chemistry with higher capacity. Look here: Types of Lithium-ion Batteries
We are not yet finished with the testing, and a final result is not yet known, but we already identifed usable cells, some are even better than the AWs in our frame of usage.
We are waiting for a new sample for the BDLs - they have had too high variance in results.
AW IMR18650-1600 (For mechanical PVs not worse than the -2000)
AW IMR18650-2000 (For regulated PVs a hair better than the -1600)
Sony US18650V3 (Very new cell, might not be available yet)
I'm on my first day with these, and so far, so good. I just switched out the battery after about 10.5 hours and 3 ml of juice, and it read 3.72.
