Default Alternate choice for batteries on Reo Grand

    Good Evening all,

Just wanted to get some opinions on which brand of 18650 batteries I should start collecting while I wait for my Grand get to me. I know the popular answer is going to be the AW IMR 18650 2000mAh. But I live in vancouver,Canada and I am having a very difficult time trying to source out a vendor that has them in stock. I found some UltraFire LC18650 2600mAh and I think i will probably pick these up to get started until i can get the AW's. Any suggestions would be much appreatiated, I really want to soak in the total Reo Grand experience. Thanks in advance.

    Welcome Jason
Well, these guys ship to Canada...but they're also about 10 minutes south of the border if you just want to drop down and pick them up. http://www.ecigexpress.com/mod-batte...battery-p-1036

You can also use the black AW IC 18650 2200mah protected batteries. The UltraFires work too...but I can't remember if those are a tad long or not. The biggest concern is making sure there is plenty of room for the spring to do its job in case of a short. There needs to be enough room for the spring to collapse, thus dropping the battery away from the positive battery contact. Perhaps someone who has those batteries can speak up and tell us if there is enough room.

Here is another vendor with those batteries

    AW Protected 18650 2200mAh

    I hope this helps.

If you really want the most out of your Grand go 6 Volt!!
    Amazon.com: Kits: 6 RCR123A 3.0V 750mAh LiFePO4 Rechargeable Batteries with a Smart Charger: Electronics
    When I 1st got my Grand I used 3.7, then tried 6 Volt. IMO 3.7 is just...meh.
