I can't compare the 510 to a 901 (Don't own one) personally but will give my thoughts.
The 510
The Positive:
- Atomizers seem to be very solid if taken care of. I can't tell you when they die because I still am using one for almost 2 months. Janty picked a great name with "Dura"
- Vapor production is great especially for such a small atty
- Will suck a cart dry if used correctly and topped off
- Doesn't leak much unless you really overfill it.
- It's very small
- When atomizer is faulty, will not cause a harsh burnt metal taste. From my experience these attys either work or they don't.
The Negative:
- Battery life is very poor. You will need about 3-4 batteries for an 8 hour period (PCC and good USB Passthrough is highly recommended)
- You must drip or top off very often if not using a cart mod. The cart is very small and doesn't hold very much liquid.
- Blank carts are slightly more expensive if buying in bulk
- Draw is slow and hard compared to 801 and drags take a bit longer to produce a ton of vapor (Small atty surface area)
That is all I could think of off the top of my head at the moment. Hope it helps!
Also:
The manual switch is highly recommended for this model. There seems to be so many issues with the auto from what I have read.
Note: I only have 2 801 models to compare the 510 to.

Interesting what you are saying about the carts not holding much liquid!
I thought that was one of it's strengths?

Well, that's compared to 901s...
510 carts are bigger, but you should also think that 510 attys are rather juice hungry. More vapor = more juice used = more frequent top-offs.

Very good point, plus, I vape low mg nic, which lends to me vaping non-stop

Yes, that works - but it is not a pleasant way to vape in my opinion. I have both and I think that if you want a 510, get manual batteries - the auto batteries for the 510 are garbage (2 second cutoff on all that I tried). All those little puffs just burn juice and I feel like an old steam powered locomotive. I prefer a single 3-4 second draw myself.

Did you try the second PT? I have two passthroughs for 510 from two different suppliers, but they both look identical. And both PTs are terrible. I actually find myself taking a primer puff just to see if the passthrough works. I hope puresmoker gets the new PT with 510 connectors soon!

How about the charging time?

I got my manual 510 and PCC today. I love it so far. I have used a penstyle and a 901. What I noticed right off the bat is how much different the juice tastes. My penstyle gives a powerful throat hit and I like that, but I didn't realize what people meant about the taste you lose with a penstyle until I got the 510. I didn't realize you could get a great throat hit AND flavor. I love the idea of having a portable power source. The only issue so far with the PCC is that my batteries are too short to activate the charger when I close the lid. I cut a piece of sticky foam insulation and stuck it to the inside of the lid. Someone posted that fix in a different thread. It works. I haven't noticed any burning taste from the cart. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I love this thing. Special thanks to Surf Monkey for the great review that helped me decide to get one.
