Which is the best Super-Mini? The M403, JOYE306a, DSE084, or something else?

I ask not out of idle curiosity or to stir up controversy (although that's always fun), but to identify the optimum first e-cig for me to recommend to a friend who is an unfiltered camel smoker. Somehow I don't think he will be receptive to my Prodigy or even my 801 penstyle.

I am new and have only been vaping for about 11 days, but I vote the 84. I did a lot of research on this forum before choosing my ecig. I finally chose the 84. I have two different brands, one from Skyrl and one from Heaven's Gifts. I love them both. (the only difference between the two that I can see is color and logo). The device is small (same size as a king cig), I get a lot of vapor, and "throat hit". Of course since it is small the battery doesn't last as long as others probably do, but both of my kits came with extra batteries. I just carry extras in my case. I will say that to increase vapor production, I add some glycerin to my PG juice.

I can't speak to any other mini because I haven't used any enough to say. (I've only used one other, and that was a few drags at the mall kiosk)

I was unhappy with the 84 - which as far as I can tell is more the size of a standard cig from what I can tell. It does give a fair bit of vapor and throat hit, but it's a four hole atomizer with a coil that really only vaporizes enough for one hole long term. I also think that a key issue with automatic batteries isn't so much the total capacity (100mah with these) but the time before the voltage drops from peak to plateau. With manual batteries it's easier to compensate for the voltage drop, but it's hard with an auto. With the 100mah battery the time to drop is by my estimate maybe one cig worth of drags.

I'd suggest going to the regular mini tier instead, which is where the best production e-cigs are. I think the 4081 is a pretty good starter e-cig. It's 103mm long, instead of the 84 that is standard with real cigs, and about a millimeter and change larger in diameter (which is actually quite a lot in a device that size), but the battery performance is tolerable. The throat hit and vapor are pretty solid. The two problems I saw with it are that the cartridge is small and hard to fill properly, and the amount of nicotine delivered seems to be too far below what I needed to be happy.

The joye 510 is also in that category - it's up at 108mm, same diameter to the 4081. The automatic batteries for them are oversensitive to vibration and wind, and generally aren't very well regarded, although they do make fairly serviceable starter batteries. The manual batteries though are a bit short lived, but they're solid. PCCs are available.

Go for the M403. Stay away from the 84. DSE (Sailebao) has dropped out of the e-cig race by consistently churning out sub standard models. I don't know much about the JOYE306 but have not read too much to be impressed yet.

I had a JOYE306A. Loved it, but also couldn't wait to get rid of it. The carts are so small, it's hardly worth filling them. If they have an exposed atomizer, just drip. Fuller flavor and fuller vapor. The real issue was battery life. 45-1:30 at the very most. Origianlly I didn't mind switching them, but if you don't walk out of the house with 2 fully charged batteries, you're going to be left high and dry. It failed me too many times.

I moved from a super-mini to the DSE103. At about 100mm, it's hardly huge but it is compared to a super-mini, and the price can't be beat. The weight and increased thickness was worth it, IMHO. Battery lenght jumped to 3-4 hours and I still could hold it in my hand like a cigarette (I'm over that part now). Again, the cartridges are a waste due to the exposed atomizer, but custom made for dripping. And once the atomizer heated up (your first vape should be long and slow to get the ball rolling) it was a vaping fiend (DSE901 to JOYE510 vapor, honest!). The atomizer on the DSE103 is similar to the JOYE306/a so you get good air flow and very little flooding. And it's basically one big hunk of metal that turned out to be very durable.

The cart design is terrible. Only the tip of the atomizer actually touches the filler material so you get a very poor inconsistant drawer. They are great for keeping track of what you vaping. A few drops and when it's done your done.

After a while you learn you don't have to "simulate" the cigarette smoking experience to enjoy vaping or "trick" yourself into thinking you're smoking a cigarette. Once you learn that your nicotine monster is under control, find what works for you.

I've moved on to the JOYE510. Best in vapor, best in nicotine delivery. And that was the bottom line for me. But, I keep the DSE103 around for when I just want to sit back, let the automatic battery do the work, and savor the taste of a little Winston.

I'll look into the 4081(RN?) and DSE103 and probably will add them into Part 2 and/or 4 of that "major project."

BTW, are you sure the DSE103 is 100 mm? It seems so likely to be 103 mm. Either way, wouldn't it (and the 4081) be considered super-minis (the longest ones)? Virtually the same size as an analog (100s) and only slightly longer than the 402 or 306. I think the minis (e.g., the 501) start at 108 mm.

The joye 306a is awesome. I got one from rocky mountain vapor, and I absolutly love it. Compatable with 510 stuff. I don't even have a cart. I dip it in liquid. Smoke it like an analog and put away. Hassle free because there is no cart to mess with.

I am sure some people will strongly disagree, but I REALLY enjoy my npro. It's fairly small, by far smaller than my 510.

I only suggest, if interested, be sure to get the new models, those sold at Flying J or Pilot truck stops, in the new packaging. Likely also what you get directly from them now as well.

The design is completely different, doesn't look "cheap" as the old models and the battery life is great, vapor production is most times more than my 510, which I love dearly...but the newere npros, the batteries are different, the led and ash cap are different, the cartridge material (cig butt looking part) is different.

It looks like njoy changed manufactures or something from the old to the new. My old one, was ok. My new npro is about to overtake my 510 as my favorite.

Just get the guy some juice and stress to him to avoid the high costs of the cartridges, of course that is a given.

I've not tried any other mini's, so my advice isn't truly broad, but, I sure do enjoy my njoy...

Check out the RN4081 subforum Don. Seems like that model has it's own little community of devout followers. Seems like everyone on the regular forums bashed all of the super minis without giving them a chance, based on price (NJOY model) or something else.

The guy making the copper mod on AtmosUSA says the RN4081 is the best atomizer he's run into. Thinking of picking up one myself to compare to my 901/801/kr808d-1.
