Suzi, since you bought your NJOY locally, is there any chance of exchanging them at the place of purchase? Barring that, I hope somebody will post instructions for safely cleaning the attys, because I suspect that "primer" is the nasty taste you've been getting. I got that with the second e-cig I purchased, from a different company, and thought it was the carts. Wound up throwing 4-5 of them away before I stumbled upon a post here talking about the primer. We learn as we go! Cheers, ~~Cheryl |

They won't take it back for refund. I didn't ask about an exchange because I wasn't sure I wanted to try another at that point - still not, to be honest. I read part of the thread you pointed me to regarding cleaning atomizers. I may give boiling a try. I have nothing to lose because I surely can't use it the way it is. I gotta say I'm not very optimistic about it, though. I just refuse to believe that my experience is the norm with the putrid taste and spitting atomizer and that most others have gotten past it to enjoy their product. Seriously, I'm giving the whole e-cig experience a second look if the break in period and maintenance is so high. I may have to slap on a nicotine patch and call it a day. I do appreciate your advice, though. Thanks! ![]() Suzi |

Okay, I'm boiling mine in a bit of vinegar and water right now. Will boil for a few minutes, I think, then let it drip dry, threaded end up. I'll keep you posted on whether this revives it. If it does, then we know it's safe. And I have to believe that boiling would remove any primer residue that might exist in your atomizer. Trust me, when it's good, it's very very good, but when it's bad, it's horrid! ![]() Cheers, ~~Cheryl |

I did a little on-the-job-training, also with mine....what I was doing was not taking a long, easy draw, I was pulling so hard my cheeks hurt!! After I settled down, trained myself to not pull harder for more smoke, just longer, and got some nicer tasting juice (JC's Original) I have no more complaints, other that 1 bad battery and 1 burned out atty. It vapes great!

Greetings all. I got my NPRO on Amazon because NPRO was out of stock on everything. At first, I thought this was a terrible product but then I started reading the posts here. In my opinion, the problem is with the carts that come with it. They dry up and don't work too well. I bought some juice from TW, 36mg Marlboro. What a difference. The throat hit at first is severe. Kind of when you first started smoking analogs (if anyone can remember back that far, haha). Since I started this, about 5 days ago, I haven't had an analog and I rarely have a craving. The plan is to buy each bottle one step down until I get to 0. After trying every other method, and you name it, I've tried it, I'm hoping that this will be the method where I finally quit. At least I'm no longer sucking in 600 plus toxins with every analog that I used to suck down, pack a day. If anyone feels that they bought one that works better than the NPRO, please let me know. I might want to check it out.

I appreciate the suggestions. At this point I'm thinking about trashing the whole system and looking for something else. But I hate to throw good money after bad. Suzi

Maybe the problem is with the nasty carts. They even smell awful. But that doesn't address the liquid in the mouth thing. That really make me almost puke. Did you buy carts elsewhere? What kind and where? Suzi

Suzi, I bought carts from TW. I got their super e-cig in black and got 50. Enough to last for the entire step down plan. The fit the NPRO to a tee. The strange thing that I found is that when I dripped the cart that came with the kit, it took only 4 drops. The carts that I ordered took 7 drops. Obviously, it has to do with the core, but they look exactly the same to me. I do have the problem with getting a little liquid in my mouth, but to be honest, it happens rarely and it is just a bit, so I can live with it. So far I'm very happy with it. Like I said, 5th day and no analogs. |

| Super Member | Is there a way to tell if the atty's burned out without a multimeter? It's never gotten overly hot, that I can recall. The vinegar boil apparently didn't work. But I can't see anything obviously wrong with the atty -- it looks the same as all my others. Still willing to work with it a bit before I give up and toss it. Suzi, like I said, that bad taste went away with mine after I threw away several carts, believing the juice was bad. The primer theory does make sense to me. I've had the gurgling and the juice escaping occasionally, too, but it seems to be random and infrequent. I wonder if they did mistakenly send you the wrong carts for your device. Not sure if you would even be able to install the wrong ones, since I've never had a mini. ~~Cheryl |
