So, just chiming in here to say that the 4081 is indeed under-rated. Yes, it's a monumental rip off in terms of buy in price... but if you load your own liquid and experiment with your vaping technique, the 4081 can actually be made to perform very nicely. I can get mine to produce a lot of good vapor, a nice throat hit and a fairly consistent experience. The drawbacks are relatively short battery life and the miniscule carts. Personally, I'd estimate that the 510 carts are more like 3x the size of the 4081's. But all that really means is that you have to top off more.
Bottom line: if you own one of these, don't feel like you got completely scammed. It's a good starter unit that can be very satisfying if you take the time to learn how to use it to optimal effect.

I have a soft spot for my Npro since it was my first unit, but its not my favorite one by any means. The original Npro hardware still functions great with no returns. Battery life is great.
Drawbacks as follows:
It cost me 80 bucks and the cheapie kits I bought for "spares" have inferior fit, finish, and performance.
Carts crack easy..Especially the black ones for some reason.Npro carts seem a higher quality, but its almost cheaper to smoke than buy those.
The fluid capacity is a cruel joke.
Filling the carts properly means disassembling the cart basically and its a pain.
Inconsistant draw. Primer puff, hit (weak), hit again (OK..maybe),weak...rinse,repeat.....
Topping off a cart usually leads to juice getting by the filter. From there you have to waste juice blowing it out or TASTE raw juice.
I couldnt stand that taste and have NEVER had to experience it with my 510.
Auto batteries like to hang up at times for no reason causing a heated sensation in my pocket! And no im not refering to the cleaning cycle.
Auto batteries are susceptible to juice ruining them.
Primer puffs are a waste of everything (time, juice, batt life..etc)
Some stuff and i can live with, but the high initial cost along with the filling/capacity issues are dealbreakers.
Im not sure how old this design is,but theres just other models out that are superior IMO and the prices are dropping!
All 510's are basically the same as an example and some starter kits are well under 50 bucks!

I recently bought an NJOY NPRO at a Smoker Friendly retail outlet locally. It was sort of an emergency buy (was going on a week-long trip and had misplaced one of my two Minis) but I have to say that I'm impressed.
My biggest gripe is that the carts suck. Not only are they too small, when I went to refill one, I noticed that there was this rubbery glue-type-stuff all over it. Opening some more carts, I noticed that maybe half of the ones I got with my starter kit have this same glue stuff all over them. Some just on the bottom (to affix it to the mouthpiece, maybe?) but some INSIDE the filling! Yikes! Not something I want to be vaping.
In any case, I've been carefully dripping with it for the last week and a half and I have to say that I prefer it to the Mini. The vapor and throat hit from dripping is definitely what I needed to kick cigarettes for good.
Although I'm pretty sure I'll soon be buying a 510 along with everyone else on this board...

I am really starting to think it is. I am doing a 'puff' count on my batteries and my 2 month old 4081 battery lasted twice as long as the 510 and within 30 puffs of the 401 and thats with the switch sticking 'on' a few times during the counting. Also after 25 puffs on the 510 it dropped in vapor production to about what the 4081 did through 130 puffs. Granted I easily paid twice as much for the 4081, but that was just me being uninformed at the time.

Yeah, I really love my 510, but the 4081 just seems to get better and better for me. I can get huge vapor out of it and the battery lasts longer than the 510. It's a fantastic little backup unit. I think I'll get a case for it. I like the fact that it looks like a traditional cigarette too.

The consistency SM is referring to is why after my 901 test run I have opted to go back to my RN 4081.

I agree that it's pretty solid. I wonder if there's a cart mod that can make the capacity of these bigger? I think that's really the single serious drawback with the design.

I just ordered a new 4081 from ecigarettecigar on sunday. I had planned to get a joye306 and replace the Npro I use at work, however; I saw they have something they call double capacity carts for the 4081...If they are what they claim, that could change things dramatically for that model. So I'm very much looking forward to seeing these new carts...I will post again once I've gotten them and done some testing.
