    Default persistent auto logoff :(

I joined about a week ago and have been logging on every time. However, each time I try to post a reply to a thread I am warned that I am not logged on and have to log on every time again.

I DID notice that I cannot post and seem logged off if I open the thread in another ff 3 tab BUT even when I try to post from the same tab for the first time, I'm still asked to log on again.

Just my 2 cents but at least I'm at my 7th post so I'm on my way to full membership :P Maybe a full member has the privilege of staying logged on for longer

I use Firefox 3 too but I've managed to sort my logoff problem now. I can't remember what I did. It might have something to do with persistent cookies, if you use a blocker you might want to check if the forum is allowed to send them.

What Kate said, make sure your cookies are working ok. Firefox 3 is never a problem for me....

Cookies are accepted from this site, but I'm still getting randomly logged off.

I must remember to copy the text before sending: I have just lost a long-ish post

ECF is the only forum where I have that particular problem, out of half a dozen or so.

Saying that, it's great that the site is running so well since you moved it. The logging off issue is really a minor problem (so long as I remember to copy my posts )

There is a newer thread around where someone else was having this problem (or was it you? lol)

Anyhoo...I can't find it right now so I don't know if they had a solution for it or not. That's happened to me on other forums. Pain in the butt, ain't it?

Hmmn, it could be the session length. Any idea how long you have to have been on before it does this?

    I can't say I've seen it myself.....

Just checked - it's set at 15 minutes. If there's no activity, you'll be logged off - Is that annoying? I could up it, but it will have to come down again in the future if there's loads of server activity.

i think a good medium is 30 mins that way some people could get the long winded out before having to re log
