I agree, "God" did cross the line with that post...it was totally uncalled for....and he has been banned.

Kate, as far as I can tell, there are no stated rules regarding multiple accounts. However, my general rule of thumb would be if the accounts are created just to start trouble, then they should be banned....along with the creator. But I'm not really sure where SJ stands on this as we have never discussed it. Perhaps it might be time to....and maybe something added to the rules about it.

Now...on the other side of the coin...my father once told me (paraphrased) "if you don't want an ugly debate to erupt, never discuss politics, religion or abortion"...and I always keep that in mind.

Such topics tend to be emotionally charged.....people often "go over the top".....nobody bends.....insults start getting hurled....and feelings get hurt. So, in the future, I would suggest...and this is to anyone listening....refrain from such discussions unless you want to see WW III break loose.

I followed that thread and as some others, thought what "God" was saying could make some sense but he, as others, got sucked into "the war"....and then it gets ugly.

And to those of you who reply to such posts with "f you" or other derogatory terms are just stooping to their level...and they will drag you into the ban pit with them. See what an ugly mess it turns into?

I am not done with "God" yet but let it be known that if you (meaning anyone here) stoops to his level, you will be joining him at his level.

Now if the original question is answered, I will close this thread. Or does someone see the sense in it being kept open?

God's IP Address was: 74.105.206.137 (Verizon). That was on the "Are You Religious?" Thread.

The last post by God at that IP was the Jumpin' Jack Flash lyrics. All posts prior to that by God were also from that IP address.

At that point God was not banned.

JanokeJamoke tried to log in as God from his IP address (not 74.105.206.137 (Verizon)? using the password "god". He said it worked. That was also on the "Are You Religious?" Thread.

Soon after that Lu closed the thread. (Congratulations Kate on the last word again!!!!)

Then, apparently, someone else, from yet another IP address (not 74.105.206.137 (Verizon) tried the password and successfully logged in as God and posted that obscene and uncalled for attack on Kate in this "Trolls and multiple account deception" thread.

That's when God was banned.

Sort of like real-life, if you ask me. I guess God is really OK if it's really God. The so called all merciful one. Mostly merciful, from my perspective anyway. Then when some jerk gets his/her login, they wreak chaos and destruction. God gets banned. Everyone loses.

If you ask if I am God? Not anymore than anyone else, including the merciless jerks who pose as God.

Apparently it's easy to login as God, it's much harder to post as God would. There might be a lesson in that.

It is what it is. Whatever it is, it resonates with me. Forum imitating Life.
