I need to preface this with...I like Parked and have always enjoyed his reviews. But, something went down recently that was really bugging me. I have mentioned something about it a time or two but wasn't really trying to make a big deal about it.

It was part of Parked's Dura-C thread. A newb came on and was debating on the Dura-C or a 901.

At the time, no one had used the Dura-C but Parked. There had already been mass problems with the initial Dura....and people were waiting for the Dura-C to come out.

Anyhoo, my suggestion to the newb was:

To be honest, the dura's are still in their "testing stage". They are better for those who already have devices and want to try something new. I would say they are not the best for beginners because there has been some reliability problems....and that's not something you want to be dealing with when it's the only device you have to depend on.

To start off, you might want to try something more "tried and true" for reliability....like the 901 or penstyle....then move onto something like a dura.

I actually thought that was quite reasonable advice to a newb, under the circumstances.

This was 3/8/09. Obviously Parked was working with Janty by then.

I was a bit shocked by that recommendation to a newbie....someone who didn't even own an ecig yet. Now it makes more sense.

I don't like "hidden agendas"....and that's what all this could seem like. I don't think Parked is a bad person, but I think he did use poor judgment by not mentioning, during his more recent reviews, his involvement with Janty...or his future business intentions.

And on another subject (which was mentioned briefly here)....I personally do not feel suppliers should be moderators. Nothing at all against Steve....I would say the same about anyone else. I just think it makes for "bad business" protocol.

Do a whois search on ANY registrar site and you'll get that info...
