Feature request thread (new)

I'd like to suggest a name change for the "General" forum. Something like "Almost Anything Goes". The way it is now there are two forums named General.

Sounds like a good idea Houdini. Maybe SJ will take a look at that.

could we have a sticky placed in the modders forum
i would like a "Gallery" where modders can upload pics of their handywork and a bit of a write up.
basically - ""no post without a pic of your mod""
no chit chat replies by other members talking about the weather or any other mundane crap , other forums can take care of that dribble
this might help cut down the ridiculous amount of spammage thats going in there

some really great stuff has been created by people and it would be great to be able to go to one thread and look through a whole range of ecig mods and who has done the work ,if people need to contact for more info a pm is easy to do

so maybe a header post by Samba or Epipe laying down the law and it should stay nice n neat

if that could be done , ill be a happy chappy

I would really like to see a differentiation made between users who have been Banned (permanently) and users who have been Suspended (temporarily banned).

Also, I would like to see a sticky thread similiar to http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/for...lack-list.html (not for discussions!) that would list a SHORT explanation of why any users that are currently 'banned' have been 'banned' (users that haven't reached the blacklist stage). This is often questioned...

id set up the gallery post myself but it would soon fill up with too many replies between modders posts of pics and get messy without some kind of control over it
i spend a lot of time looking at mods made by others and really appreciate the effort put into them
so if that section had a gallery lead in and then there could be the discussion threads below it and then it would be easy to do a quick look for updates for new stuff that people want to show off

I would like a better picture up-loader. I like the java system facebook/myspace uses. As is, it took me 20 min to upload images today!

I would like to see the supplier section on the main page be compressed to a single spot on the homepage marked “Suppliers area” or something to that effect. Right now it does look quite excessive. It takes quite a while to get to the bottom of the page and it is getting down right annoying. Perhaps a small bar at the top or bottom of the home page with a rotating selection could let the suppliers be seen in a more tasteful manner.

I agree with Houdini that a name change is overdue for one of the "General Forums." On a couple of occasions I have found myself posting threads in the wrong forums. Granted, they were kind of ambiguous and really could have gone in either, but in truth they ended up in the forum that they're in by accident.


A few years back I was on a ........ website where one of the mods wrote up a vBulletin script for something called Karma. It was a system where if someone made an exceptionally good or helpful post, people would award them positive karma, and if someone was trolling or stepping out of line, people would give them negative karma. When our forum was relatively small, it helped new members know who to listen to and go to, and as our forum grew and it aided in reminding us who were the most helpful people or who frequently posted good material, such as reviews, a how-to threads, home-made devices, etc. Adn on the left hand side of the screen, you had a number of green bars (or red if you were in the negatives) representing what karma level you were at.

Since then, the script has been sold to vBulletin and I've seen it implemented on a number of sites under various names such as "Reputation," "Respect," and various other names. I think it would be a good idea here.
