User CP

Hi;

Does anyone know if there are restrictions on PM settings in your User CP? I want to move some messages from my inbox to folders I've created, and it doesn't work. Do I have to be at a certain level of membership before I can do this?
Any info would be great!

I understand your situation and I have been wondering about this also. I have over 200 posts but I am very limited on what I can put on my signature line-only a certain number of characters is the message I get when I try to add to it. Yet I see people here with huge sigs, big banners and all. What's the trick?

The only limit is your total PMs.. being a supporting member you have a higher limit.

you have to create a folder first .. you should see that as an option on the rightside menu in your User CP

After folder is created go to your private messages... click on the boxes (to the left of message) of the messages that you want moved

go to the bottom of the page you will see a little options box .. select "move...."

Then it will ask you which folder you want to move selected items to....

click on button to activate action

That should be it.... if you are still having a problem let me know exactly what it is so I can provide more assistance...

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry I couldn't get back to you right away.

I've created folders, but I still can't move anything from my inbox to another folder. There are no boxes on the left side of my msgs to click on, only on the right. But when I check those on the right side, then go down to the dropdown menu, the option to "move to" isn't listed on that menu. The only things listed are:

Delete
Mark as read
Mark as unread
Download as XML
Download as CSV
Download as TEXT

It's not really a big deal. I just don't want my inbox too full. Thanks for your help!

Thank you! Thank you! It was so simple, I feel like

! But I learn visually easier than any other way. If I can see how it's done, I pick up on it right away. (I learned that the hard way when I went back to college!

)

One more question? Can I move my sent msgs to a different folder? I don't see the "move to" on the dropdown menu. The options are like my earlier post. If I can't move them, that's OK. At least now I know how to move the others!
