So far, I like both. I'm not sure if these are dry or regular. Sorry for the noob question, but how do I know?
I'm a relative newbie too, but I'm pretty sure white = dry. Both of the ones you got are white portions, and the Oomph is a "purified" type as well, which packs more of a nicotine punch. I only know this from reading about it here, and/or looking at how Northerner categorizes their snus.

Hope you find a variety you enjoy. They are my go-to nicotine sources in many public places where I simply don't want the hassle involved with looking like I'm illegally smoking. Much, much easier to pop a snus in place and lean back and enjoy life.

Let the "smoking anywhere" rebels ruin it for us all if they must. Snusers will survive.
Yeah I have 3/4 of a box of nic gum left to get rid of, so for now I'll continue to chew that when I'm someplace where I might cause any hostile confrontation to crop up by vaping. If I like snus, it seems like it would make a great replacement to keep in my purse for occasions like long waits at appointments and extra drawn out shopping trips and such. Thank you for all the info

Oomph does not need refrigeration as it is a completely dry snus.

General white "white" meaning it is not moistened with tobacco juice in the final process the way a "regular portion" is. The whites do have moisture. They are best kept in the fridge when your at home.

If you plan on keeping cans that you will not use within a month, keep those in a freezer bag in the freezer. Doing this will keep them fresh for 1+ years.

We're really coming out of the woodwork now, hehe. Snus is much better than the nicotine gum and lozenges (which never worked for me), and tastes better too!

Yeah gum utterly failed as a quitting aid for me. If I chew 2 pieces at once I think it helps a teeny tiny bit (for about a whopping 10 mins or so ) to keep me from completely biting someone's head off when I have no other immediate nicotine option. Also possible I just tell myself it does that so I don't feel like it was as big a waste of money and useless for anything besides trash can filler, though

on the way home from Chatanooga Sunday, I picked up a can of Camel Frost I think its called ... Figured, I had seen so much talk about it, might as well try it. HOLY HELL ... The taste was freaking INTENSE! Gums started burning, throat was drying out and tingling, and after 3-4 minutes of hell in my mouth, I tossed it!

The flavor was just tooooooo strong! I kept trying to drink Dr. Pepper hoping it would 1) calm the flavor down 2) fix the scratchy throat i was getting from it ... AND ... it didn't work!

Are there any *Not So Strong* flavors out there ... Didn't even feel a nic hit/buzz/the like ... Just an intense Taste and Numbness
I been doing the Camel Frost myself. Like the taste but burns my gums also. I'm gonna stop using it when i run out. Not supporting BT or big brother anymore.

So my pack came in the mail today, and I am currently trying the regular General White Portion.
First impressions: It's tingly, but not painfully so. I like the taste a lot - it reminds me of some kind of tea I've had before. The salty aftertaste is a little wierd, but not horrible. I feel relaxed so far, which is the usual effect nicotine has on me. To really put this to the test I should probably try to find something to annoy the crud out of me and see if I snap, but for now it seems to be delivering, hehehe.

Now for the downside: Since this is not a mini-portion, I look like a bunny with this under my upper lip! I'm petite, and this package is pretty big. Is there a way to safely divide the portions in half without having it all end up loose? I was thinking maybe I could squish it into the two outer edges, tie two threads very tightly to seal it into 2 seperate sections, and then cut down the middle between the tied off strings. Any hints?

I can't go out with a regular portion in my mouth. Just can't, it's too obvious, and even some of the mini portions seem too big to me. The Oomph purified portions are almost completely flat & unnoticeable though, so that's what I use outside. I wouldn't think it would be very easy to cut a regular one in half without having it fall apart in your mouth -- might have better luck repackaging it with a teabag or something. Even then it seems like a lot of trouble though... but better than nothing, that's for sure!

p.s. Niniane, I didn't mean to pooh-pooh your idea at all... you should definitely try it and let us know how it worked! If it weren't for the more adventurous people around here we wouldn't find out about alternate ways to do things.
