I tried it about 20 years ago, it was alright then...but all this talk has got me itching to try some of those fancy new flavors. I bet I'd like it a lot better now that I'm all gung-ho about any kind of tobacco that isn't smoked.

I got my free-sample pack today, I tried the "dry white mini" and it was burning the inside of my mouth within minutes, I tried to move it around some place else and then it just grossed me out.

Wildsky- you might want to give it another try, I remember having some of those same reactions with the first pouch or two. That was many, many tins ago!

Or try the dissolvables (Stonewall's) it's just a little tablet that will dissolve. It's more like a piece of hard candy and like TBob has said before the Java is delicious!! If you like coffee, I don't know..can't imagine not liking these even if you weren't a coffee lover!

I'm still waiting on my Stonewalls, Wildsky, but I have tried Ariva, which is the same thing, just a smaller nic hit and those are delicious. I've only tried the wintergreen since I'm partial to mint, but I'm sure the Java flavor would be good too. :-)

I am right now trying my first snus from my free sample pack from getsnus...I picked the winter green to try first from you guys suggestion ( didnt want my very first one to be horrid lol)... My initial reaction was just like wilds... ..It said to insert under top lip..It's not a small pouch...So I tried flattening it down a lil under my lip..Thats when the fire started lol

I thought, ok i can handle this...4 seconds go buy> oh h*ll nooo lol.. so I moved to the other side..Same fire... But I found if you move it to the side starting like right behind your eye tooth..The fire lessons...After about 5-10 mins its movable without fire...

I got a free sample of the dissolvables too...I plan on trying all three...so far the winter green is nice...I dont think I could handle one thats much more salty..This flavor is doable...I still kind of have the urge to grab my e-cig...But my lip feels to swollen to worry much about it lol...Although, I looked in the mirror and you really cant see it...

I dont think I would do this at work..I laugh and smile far too much with my clients...And I'm far too vain lol....I can see it now... ohhh, so sorry Mrs Jackson... here let me pick that up lmao

I found the Ariva right at the local Rite Aid, but I had to order the Stonewalls from genuinetobacco.com. Haven't gotten them yet though! It's a dissolvable tablet, not a snus. :-)

What a great thread! I love all of you trying much less harmful alternatives to cigarettes.

On snus portions .. I never put them under the upper lip. That location is specified by the "pros" to minimize saliva production when using a pris of loose snus. With pouches (portions), tuck one left or right, out of sight.

With my most recent order from Northerner, I got a snuff bullet of Zuka Zee, which is said to be a grape/menthol flavor. I detect only menthol, but the stuff is wonderful. I rarely do much nasal snuff on any given day, but I've been using this little plastic bullet all day. Love the stuff. Bullet is the only way to go, I now think. No back of the hand to leave brown stains on your nose. No pinching that gets tobacco under fingernails. No straws (OMG). No spoons. Just use the bullet in each nostril.

The Zuka bullet looks like a Vicks Inhaler once I took the label off! If you order snus from Northerner, I'd suggest throwing in a bullet of this really cheap nasal snuff ($3 or so).

Has anybody tried the Natural flavor of Stonewalls? I really really love the Java, and like the wintergreen alright too, but haven't tried Natural. What's it like? I know, this thread is veering off in all directions but oh well... :-)
