I though I read in the bill a 10oz loophole, and snus does not weight much. Maybe get 5 cans at a time. I could be wrong though.

You could be correct that suppliers might skirt the law with either synthetic nicotine (which we have been told Ruyan uses) or nicotine sourced from a plant other than tobacco.

It's a positive thought and a possibility. It doesn't help my snus, nasal snuff or pipe tobacco problem, however. All tobacco products. In the cross-hairs.

Can you say 'tobacco tax revenue?' This is not a health issue and never was. If you can vape or order snus from Sweden, neither the Feds nor the state governments are getting the tobacco taxes we apparently 'owe' them. Don't you know the PACT act was started by the NY idiots? See, once they raised cigarette taxes so high that a pack cost $10, black markets sprang up, meaning smokers looked for every other arena to purchase cigarettes without paying such ridiculously high taxes. Classic economic theory demonstrates when you price a product out of the market, a black market will form by necessity. Having raised the taxes high enough to create those black markets, the only possible answer is MORE legislation, which insures you have no other option to purchase WITHOUT paying those taxes. In other words, PACT will solve the problem the governments themselves created by taxing cigarettes too high.

This doesn't have a damn thing to do with health, but has EVERYTHING to do with money. That's precisely why I will grow my own tobacco and make my own snus. The government WILL get and stay the fluck out of my tobacco usage. It simply will no longer be their business and their inane and assinine policies will have no more bearing on my life.

I KNOW it's all about the MONEY. I've ALWAYS said that, but the BS they spew about our health is what just makes me so mad because it makes NO sense.

My pet hypothesis on that one is it stirs up popular opinion to support the increased taxes. Can't you just see the self-righteous non-smokers and former smokers joining in the kumbaya chorus as to how 'good for us' the new taxes will be?
