    Default Snus Recommendations

I have been a pack a day Lucky Strike smoker for several years now, and recently have all but given up the habit (i have 1 or 2 a day, mostly for nostalgia) for my Joye510, and Lucky Strike SNUS.

I have heard about loose snus, and wanted to know if anyone could provide me with some good recommendations. At this point I use 3 original portion pouches at a time, and this can be costly, and cumbersome... I am very interested in loose snus, but am not sure where to start.

    Any advice is surely appreciated!

And what about this ice-tool? Before discovering snus, I used Copenhagen moist snuff, and am decent at hand pinching... but snus is a very different product. is there anything else i should be aware of?

For loose snus you can either form the pris (portion) by hand or use a Pris Master which costs like $2. You just push it into the can a couple times, put it on the lid, press down the slider to pack it, then put it under your lip and push the slider up. As far as varieties go, it all depends on what strength you like and flavor you want.

I can't help you with los, but if you're using three portions at a time, you definitely need something stronger.

Might I recommend some Ekstra Sterk?
Thunder - comes in several brands
    General Ekstra Sterk
Oden's (classic or kanel (cinnamon)) Extra Stark

These are available in los as well, although for Thunder, only the "Frosted" flavor (spearmint) comes in los.

I'm with Isande, definitely try out an extra sterk snus. 3 portions at once is a bit much. I smoke a pack a day and a mini is usually enough to tide me over. Admittedly I've never tried the Lucky Strike, so i don't what the nicotine level is like.

Don't know if you've tried to get Lucky Strike lately, but it is banned for import into America now. RJR was not happy. I, too, enjoyed it and can no longer obtain it.

I had a very bad first experience with loose, and never tried again. There's also something about having plain tobacco resting against my gums that disturbs me. Portions are .. cleaner. Much cleaner. They're the future, not loose tobacco lumped into a wet, brown-spit producing ball. If you need more nic, do as suggested and try stark portions.

Using multiples is indeed a waste of money. Also gives you that Alvin and the Chipmonks look. Not good.

My buddy SmokingClam swears by his Prismaster and loose. He likes the taste and quicker hit of loose. To each his/her own.

Claq Qui is another great sterk I would recommend. As said before, if you need a high level of nicotine the stronger portions are much more efficient. The thought of you shoving three portions in to get your fix cracks me up.

As for los, never tried it and probably never will. Though some swear by it I have no desire to stick a chunk of "moist dirt" into my mouth. Even the most efficient los users sometimes get a mess in their mouth when they take the pris out. No thanks, I'll stick to the clean, efficient portion...

RIP Lucky Strike by the way. At least I saved my last one... I love the Lucky Strike tin.

Same for me. I made the infamous "mud mouth." Took me forever to wash the tobacco pieces out of my mouth. Yuck. I've been portions ever since.

Hey TBOB, Since you are the expert in this area, how about a Snus Primer Sticky?
    Pros, cons, brands, suppliers...
Or maybe just bump a good thread that you have already done it in. I read some a few months ago but wasn't interested then and can't find it now...
Thanks for all you do here.

    Good morning 42109
Offer this up in T Bobs stead. Ceaserea pointed me to a post from kitabz that seems to me to be a good primer. Answered most if not all of my initial questions
