Wow, the things I find out in here...I feel like I'm getting smarter by the day! hehe I did order some mini-bullets of the raspberry, vanilla, and chocolate, yesterday since I did like those Toque ones, and also a cherry menthol bullet just for the heck of it. Ordered them from toquesnuff.com again since there's no hurry and they do have free shipping even for international orders. Probably have a year's supply now with the 4 10g tins I have and the 4 mini bullets that're coming. But there are a couple others I still want to try that were mentioned in here.

Default Bullets are not my favorite thing...

I have mixed feelings about bullets. Granted, I am just at the beginning of my snuffing career, but I really prefer either (1) pinching straight from the tin and then snuffing the pinch from my fingertips for dry, fine snuffs (like scotches and toasts), or (2) tapping moister snuffs out onto my left thumbnail (with index finger curled around thumb-tip), and snuffing from there. Tapping onto the thumbnail is probably my favorite, but for scotches (sooooo good!) I really need the control that a pinch provides, or else I get hurt.

If the snuff is too moist, it will clog up the bullet, and if it is too dry/fine then snuffing thru the bullet will blast your brain out through the back of your eyeballs. I find myself more often then not accessing snuff that is stored in bullets by unscrewing the top and tapping it out onto my thumbnail.

Right now I carry my snuffs du jour in either small amber glass screw-top vials (for tapping out) or in small flip-top plastic smashboxes for pinching (what Nicotine Rush sells their sampler bundles in). Eventually I'd like to get one or two of the nice wooden slide-top Patrick Collins snuff boxes, but I am exercising restraint. Having laid out a bazillion bucks on my vaping paraphernalia, I am really trying not to go over-board on snuff doo-dads. It's pretty hard to beat a $0.50 smashbox from Nicotine Rush. That being said, I do have a small selection of bullets at hand, and I would really like to get more used to using them. I like the *idea* of the convenience, portability and less-mess-ness of bullets (plus the heavier metal bullets look and feel really kick-axx!)--I really just need more practice and experience.

Just finished ordering from nicotinerush and decided on the following from the suggestions in here. Not a heavy user, but I'm starting to like it every once in a while during the day I picked the Dean Swift Inchkenneth, Honey Bee Sweet Dry Snuff, SHE Cherry Menthol, and threw in a Swisher Strawberry Sweet just because I like strawberries :-p

Don't know about the kick-axx metal bullets, but I did add a cute little pink glass/acrylic bullet to the order, hehe Hey, I am a girl after all

Anybody know of any research on snuff and health? I'm using snus and dissolvables now, which seem pretty safe health-wise, but it might be kind of fun to add some snuff into the mix too.

LOL, I have the exact same pink glass/acrylic bullet too! Yeah, female here. The kick-axx metal bullet I was referring to was the Posh bullet (just *had* to have one). It'll be a gem for sure, but I'm holding off on loading her up until I find the just right snuff for the job.

I received a huge load in the mail yesterday (from Mr. Snuff and Nicotine Rush) and now have two full freezer bags full of snuff...still waaaay cheaper than PV parts and juice, so I'm not really complaining. I'm keeping the big tins and unopened tins in freezer bags in the freezer, and have placed a large variety of testing portions in smashboxes that I keep in a gladware box hidden in the kitchen (buried in the cooking pot cupboard where DH will *never* have cause to look).

I've been loving on American scotches (strong, smokey, mesquite-ish, *very* delicious), American sweets (strong and sweet), and some of the fancier English Fribourg and Treyer perfumey snuffs (complex, scrumptuous, milder). *Of course*, I've been over-doing it with the sheer variety I have at hand, my nose is quite confused, but happy. Also the Toque Whiskey and Honey toast (very Scotch-esque) has become an instant favorite.

I was in my local favorite tobacconist yesterday to pick up some Padrons for the DH, and noticed that they had a couple varieties of Poschl snuff, so I picked up boxes of Gawith Apricot and Ozona Raspberry (both mentholated fruities). Very nice, especially the Apricot...yummy fruitability underneath with a bit of menthol zing on top. Both came in tap-out style boxes.

I haven't looked much into the negative health effects of using snuff, but my gut feeling is that is must be *much safer* than smoking or using dip. Many snuff tins come with the boiler-plate "Danger, Danger Will Robinson!" label on them, as required by regulation. I copied this generic little blurb off of www.quitwithsnuff.com; TIFWIW:

Nasal Snuff has a 400 year history with no known health problems we know of. However you should be aware that there have not been many modern scientific trials done. Those trials that have been conducted (for example the Poschl study) have backed up the 400 year old anecdotal evidence. To be safe, follow the advice of the Surgeon General. We make no absolute claims one way or the other.

Obviously, snuffers do stuff brown powder containing heaven knows exactly what up their noses, but I haven't found it particularly disgusting or difficult to clean up. I do the occasional nose blow (in a *colored* handkerchief) during the day, but beware of over-blowing or else you'll get the I've-got-a-cold sore nose. I've been doing a daily neti pot for the past year (fantastic practice, that), even before I considered snuffing. If I feel particularly crusty or dried out, I will dribble in some saline nasal spray and give a blow. The nostrils get a good steaming and rubbing in my daily shower. Over-all, no big deal at all. Many sinus ailment sufferers report great relief of their symptoms once they take up snuffing, and I can see that the mentholated snuffs could be quite therapeutic.

Default Happy with the aluminum bullet

Hey, I just tried out an aluminum bullet, this one:
Metal Snuff Bullet - $9.95 : Nasal Dry Snuff - Nicotine Rush
and it is working very well with QWS Apricot. I figured that the QWS Apricot was neither too fine, too dry or too moist to either hurt me or clog up the bullet, and it's working great. The dose delivered is fairly small, so I'll toot at least a couple of doses to fill my schnozz, but it is very neat and tidy, and is something that I would dare to use in a moving vehicle.

One other thing, this aluminum bullet has much less spillage/leakage on the downward tap than the Toque bullets or any other acrylic-headed bullet I've tried thus far.

My free sample that's included is the Toque Whiskey and Honey...are their samples they send in one of the little smash boxes that I saw in there?

I just got one of the cute pink bullets since they look kinda convenient to stash a little bit in them. Does it work pretty good or will I be using it just for storage?

I'm hoping by the time all my atomizers and batteries wear out that I'll be able to exist on just the snus and maybe some snuff once in a while. I've had like 3 atomizers go on me recently, but still have a few 901s and 801s I'm rotating at home, and 3 complete 401s that I use while I'm out, 2 atomizers and 6 batteries for my 501, and 3 still unused 901s just waiting for other ones to conk out. So it might actually take me a while to run out of them anyways!

Yes, that little black plastic pill-box is what they refer to as a smashbox. I ordered a bunch of empty ones on my last nicotine rush order to use for carrying snuffs around...they work really well!

I tried out my pink plastic bullet with the Inchkenneth, and it worked OK, but it really does take some practice to get the right dose at the right speed. I nearly killed myself with a mini-bullet of Toque absinthe! I've found that the acrylic bullets can leak a lot, especially when you tap them tip-down to fill the chamber, but the aluminum bullet I just started working with today doesn't leak at all.

All in all, I am really preferring the pinch to the nostrils approach best. You have great control over the amount you snuff, and you can gently roll your fingers around while snuffing to control the dose even better. Pinching is messier, though, and nearly impossible to do while driving (unless you time your pinching with the stoplights). I think I will reserve my bullet use for driving, until I gain more experience with them.

I have put a moratorium on my vaping spending. I have a Puresmoker Prodigy and passthrough on order and enough juice and other 510/801 parts to last me for a long, long time...especially with me taking to snuffing like a duck to water. Oh yeah, there's that lunch bag full of snus in the fridge too...
