Default RJR preps for smokeless future

R.J. Reynolds Preps Dissolvable Tobacco

Big Tobacco wants tobacco products to remain the rule. We are not even on their radar, not even a minor annoyance. This article speaks to where future growth lies for tobacco.

And I still say they're missing the boat. They've got the money, the distribution channels, the tobacco; if the big cig companies moved into e-cigs they could make our little hobby mainstream overnight, and preserve their income stream for the day real cigs get banned.

No doubt, but I'm convinced they are just not interested. They do not make electronic gizmos. They make tobacco products -- and we're not a tobacco product. They don't even make nicotine; they buy it. What they CAN do is give us a hard time if they want to. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

interesting, i agree with both of you. its weird that the big players in the tobacco industry seem to be shrugging their shoulders. i guess its like the big oil companies only feigning an interest in other sources of energy in order to make nice advertisements and appease our minds. big smoke don't seem to care about a safe form of smoking unless that product contained the raw ingredient that they own and grow. still i agree, it is likely that they'll get up to something sinister if it all starts kicking off, i'm already suspicious of big pharm and their possible meddling in recent egregious reports. perhaps they're just letting it play out a little.

lets keep church and state separate on this one . Do we really want Big Tobacco going full bore into our little hobby? Last time they did anything for us it was to add 4000 chemicals so that our smokes wouldn't go out between puffs
