It's funny when I started using Snus I couldn't stand the burn and figured I wouldn't use it for long. Now I actually look forward to it and usually have to use potent snus to get it.

As to your questions.

Snus is basically a moist tobacco. Both loose and original portions are on the moist side. Whites are dryer. The basic difference is that the taste and nicotine of whites comes on a bit slower, but last longer.

Nether one is right or wrong. It's just personal taste. If you don't have massive nicotine needs there is no better place to start then with mini whites.

This would be a good start for sweet mini whites

General mint mini
All of the Discreet products (from what I've heard. I haven't tried them as of yet)
Though not my favorites, and to expensive for what you get, the camel SNUS (mellow and frost) are with out a doubt on the sweet side.

Besides those you would likely want give the Mocca and Catch products a try. Though some are not quite as sweet as the above you may end up liking them more then you thought you would. Snus can be a bit of an acquired taste. If you don't like something on the first go round, put it in the fridge and you may have a different opinion when you try it again in a few days.
What is your problem?

I find snus disgusting!

Where does it say that people here aren't allowed to expressed their opinions?

Are you the goddamn president of the homosapiens?

Opinions are fine...we just really don't need big letters since I don't think any of us are deaf in here

O.K. so far we have the following "mini" list: (not sure if all of these are "white" or not)

  1. the camel SNUS (mellow and frost) are with out a doubt on the sweet side
  2. General mint mini
  3. All of the Discreet products (from what I've heard. I haven't tried them as of yet)
  4. Mocca products. Their Pomegranate is to die for
  5. Catch products
  6. CatchDry mini's. The White Eucalyptus
  7. try a place like buysnus.com and get their mini sampler.
Questions: Are the above all "white". which of the above are the least "burning" on the gums? Thanks again!

**edit: I found this link that may be helpful to noobs like me. Mini Portion Snus - GetSnus.com
I think just the General Mini Mints and the CatchDry minis are white portions. If I'm wrong, someone will jump in

That was for Lord of the Homos, perched on his pile of snus. He's so high up you know what might not be able to read or hear.

Rogue:

OK. You find snus disgusting. Great. Fine. You have the right to that opinion.

But the topic of the discussion was on recommendations of mini portions for beginners. Not opinions on whether snus was good or bad, tasty or disgusting.

And yes, Stubby took a cheap shot at you. But that's no reason to start a flame war in this thread. If it's that big of a problem, then you should report it, take it to the mods, or take it outside.

Now, that being said, I'd also recommend the General Mini Whites. A lemon-orange citrus flavor with a hint of pepper. Not that sweet, per se, but a nice change of pace. It gives you a chance to try a more traditional snus flavor that's not overwhelming. Kind of an "Onyx/General lite"...

Do you mean General mini-mints? or is mini-whites different?

Mini mints are minty, mini whites are just mini versions of their regular white portions, no mint.

Yeah, they are different. Technically, they are called "General White - mini portions". General White is the name of the original flavor that General first marketed.

General Mini White - GetSnus.com

Again, as I said before, they aren't "sweet" as such - more of a citrus flavor. But neither are they as strong or as bitter as most traditional snus. They are actually too mild for me, but a beginner to snus should find them as a step up the ladder, so to speak.
