Default Camel SNUS love it! But does it contain sugar?

I've searched far and wide and can't find an answer. I'm on the Atkins diet and i can't have sugar. Is the Camel SNUS sweetened with sugar or artificial sweetener?

Mellow....

Probably, American snus has higher nitroasomines then swedish snus. As far as i know swedish snuff is made using salt and is usually not very sweet. American snus as with chewing tobacco is made using fermentation. As far as the atkins goes, be careful it can kill you. Muscle needs carbs, atkins cuts out carbs, so you will lose muscle and fat. The heart is a muscle, so your heart will weaken in the absence of carbohydrates. Just some info I picked up last night.

THanks, Steve. I can see the Atkin's is high fat too so i know that can't be good for me either. I am not sure i have any muscles to lose. I am a total weakling. LOL.

Most sweetened tobacco products do not contain sugar, but use an artificial sweetener. I can't say for certain, but would guess that's the case with Camel (I have a tin of Mellow in my back pocket as I type). Even if it did have sugar, the amount would be miniscule, hardly of concern. If you like it, use it.

I'm hypoglycemic, I get foggy, cant talk straight, get real sick, and shaky when sugar bottoms out, I use Camel snus every day, both frost and mellow, I have 12 more cans in the fridge, and one in my pocket, and two in my mouth right now, it is sweet, but it does not have enough sugar or sweetener in it, to even have a small effect on my sugar. I get more of a sugar bump from a piece of gum.

I wonder why Camel won't post their ingredients

Quite simply, because they don't have to.

Give it a year or two under FDA tobacco control. You'll see the ingredients -- and quite likely a ban on that particular product a short time later because it was not grandfathered in under the law.

Default Sugar?

I was just on the Snus site, and in the questions section they claim the tiny amount of sugar is naturally occurring from the process, but that the sweetness comes from "non-caloric" sweetener.

Hmm IF you are that worried about it check out northerner's site and get a swedish one. They have a listing and break down of what is in the tins.
