Interesting article on the difference between quitting smoking and quitting smoking using snus. It's a few years old but still very valid. The best part is the charts showing that for all practical purposes there is no difference health-wise between quitting smoking and quitting smoking using snus. Speaking for myself, the positive benefits I get from using nicotine for cognitive issues are far greater then the smidgen of negative health risk associated with snus. Now if only the powers that be would be so sane. eMJA: Should Australia lift its ban on low nitrosamine smokeless tobacco products?

I agree. Good article. Instead of government swiping at snus, its use should be encouraged. One way would be a progressive tax based on negative health consequences of tobacco and smokefree products. Cigs get high tax; snus get low tax, etc. And dump the inaccurate warning labels placed on harm-reduction products. They are blatantly wrong and simply render other, accurate warnings impotent.
