Evening all. A must read outside our little world-

    Snus banned in the EU

What's happening in the EU can't be good for us.

Good morning. Roth, I have to admit that the ban there makes me just the tiniest bit nervous. I went and picked up an inexpensive coffee maker yesterday for work. I don't know if I've mentioned it but I just got sick of going to get a cup of coffee at work and either the pot being empty or near empty or full of coffee grounds because the goofs there think there's not enough grounds unless the coffee comes out thick enough that it won't pour thru a strainer. Also the maker they have makes the coffee so hot that you have to put ice in it to be able to drink it within the first thirty minutes of pouring it and to top things off the lazy sob's won't empty trays into the ice bucket so most of the time if I want ice I also have to empty and refill the trays since the fridge at work doesn't have an icemaker. So anyway I got this coffee brewstation thing that doesn't have a pot so you just push in this lever with your cup and it pours in. I also bought my own coffee grounds, a container for them, and filters so that I can operate independently at work and not have to jack with the people out front. That will be one headache that I won't have to deal with at work. I'm going to put it on my mega desk and better not catch anyone tapping my coffee. I probably sound like a jerk but sometimes little things just wear on my nerves over time and if I can fix the situation then why not do it.

so looks like the snus ban isn't "the" snus ban yet? someone filed suit against a snus store and won and the eu had to execute the judgement.

the more i hear about the eu - the more it scares the bejeezus out of me.Their personal freedom intrusion skills make our government look like amateurs.

Hitt - megadesk and the allmighty bean (i.e. coffee)must be respected.Don't let those chumps you work with screw with either one...

Mrs Guttermouth is trying some new recipes today so she is at the store picking up a few things. I screwed up our coffee rations and espresso beans are dangerously low. i ordered 5 more pounds yesterday but they won't roast and ship untill tomorrow. It's looking like i'll be drinking drip coffee. *gasp*
    hehe..

Gutter I know its awful drinking regular coffee for you but I like my Starbucks breakfast blend. You could get some in bean form and give it a shot.

    Hitt,
we're so far out in the boonies that the nearest sb is almost an hour away.I seem to remember trying their breakfast blend a few years ago and liking it (it's their lighter french roast isn't it??).we've got plenty of the old standby pilon drip coffee but, the next time i drive by starbucks i'll pick some up and give it another shot.
we just finished putting away some fantastic enchiladas, rice and home made salsa (the mrs outdid herself today) and we're both sitting here in semi-coma like states trying not to pop.

Gutter, they sell Starbucks in most grocery stores here in bean and ground form. It is the light roast. I'm having some warmed up now. I have been working on sanding that kitchen table I mentioned last week. I started with 80 grit, then to 150, 220, and finally 400. We're going to paint the legs white and stain the top a dark walnut. I say we but really mean me. Just like we were going to sand it. She took the kids shopping while I worked on the table.
