Morning all! I wonder who's watching football. I'll be a big cheese head fan today, they better not fail me.
I've been running Malwarebytes as a free software for some time and recently bought the pro version, which runs real time. It catches a lot of problems and can be used to get out of some ugly virus situations. I also have two or three other free virus/adware/malware/uglyware software products I found on cnet that I'll run through on occasion.
Recently I had something show up in facebook that I hadn't posted. It showed up right after I jumped into some link from someone else's page so I assumed there might have been a nasty in there so I deleted the generated message on my FB and thought everything was okay. However, I was having lots of page loading problems and my PC was running like a dog.
I loaded up a couple of the cleanup programs I had and one that I really liked is Advanced System Care 5. I ran it and it found a lot of problems. When I want to fix them it wanted me to buy a subscription. I think the software has a 2 or 3 run limit. I didn't bother deleting it and reloading to see if I could get another free 3 runs since there was a special on it at thye time for $13 for a 3 PC license. I bought that and ran the fix. Now I'm running like new. There just not a one stop shopping answer for the malicious software out there.
