Evenin' all . Not a pretty night 'round here. But at least I'll have the next couple days off to dwell on coming back. Weird hours, weird days, weird people.

And the exciting thing is that I saw where somebody's working on a way to be able to stab people in the face over the internet during one of those argument sessions. A neat upgrade to have when venturing into the forum lounge .

Gettin' ready to commit myself to finish what I should have been doing while posting with:

I'll check in later when I find out where I am, provided I'm still where I left myself .

Good evening TV. So are you on the twelve hour shifts now? This is the first chance I've had to get online tonight. I got the yard mowed and just finished my workout. Now its time for a little relaxing before getting back to the grind tomorrow. I had a company send in eight sets of weld test plates today and half of them didn't even pass visual inspection. It sure seems like their Welders are fairly unskilled. You would think they would practice a little more at $300 per test pass or fail and the same price for retesting. Oh well, if they don't care then I'll keep taking their money until they pass or give up. Winding down with:

Yup, 1700-0515. 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off, repeat.... Cost cutting on a razor's edge. No room for nuthin'.

Sad, but if they keep paying I guess repeat business is ok. I used to be a fabricator, but never was certified, just lots of experience with stick, mig and tig. I've always been especially savvy with tig welding both structural and sanitary welds on stainless. At one time I made a decent supplemental income making stainless motorcycle parts to replace the chrome ones. Nowadays it's just an occasional repair for myself or neighbors. Anyway, if I ever decide to try for a certification I now know how much it costs .

Off to pull another thorn from my axx with:

Personally, once TB got me interested enough in snus and I got over my fear of smokeless, I totally quit smoking and vape for the flavor as the occasion fits. I've reduced the nic to very low most of the time, but I do have occasion to hit the 36mg liquid when the mood strikes.

The PV got me down from 2-3 packs a day to a half dozen cigs, but I couldn't get past that level and noticed myself slipping to a half pack or so. After my first snus, I haven't had a puff and in six days I'll be seven months smoke free. I do love my snus and I really don't need more than about four portions a day to keep me happy and calm.

In fact, Monday was a heavy day due to some extraordinary circumstances and I think I only had five, maybe six portions. I only used my Chuck a bit and that was more to blow some vapor in a couple of smokefree hospitals.

Good morning. TV that indeed is a rough schedule. I've had jobs in my younger days when we would work six twelves, or five tens and then eight or twelve on saturday but I've never had the on/off schedule like you are dealing with. I've never been a professional welder. I started out doing maintenance after I got out of the army while I was going to school at night. I got an associates degree and then took the master electrician test a little after that. I worked doing welding and cutting machine repairs for a couple years before I started where I am now. I now work for a welding supply company. My title is service manager but it's just a title. I still work on equipment every day. My boss asked me a few years ago to study to take the Certified Welding Inspector exam so I could do certification tests for our customers. We really only do structural testing. I asked him if he wanted me to take a class on ASME but he said no. That's fine with me. It makes my job simpler to not have to know another code. See there I go rambling on again. I probably ought to go get to work testing those plates that came in.

When I vaped only, I went thru about 3ml a day of liquid trying to calm the cravings. Since I started using snus and snuff I only use about .5ml per day but still like vaping. I vape the most when I drive. I used to really like to smoke when I drove so vaping while driving is just a natural replacement for me. Usually during the day at work I will use 3-4 portions of snus and a few pinches of snuff but will hardly vape at all. I usually use one or two more portions after work and sometimes use snuff and sometimes not in the evening. I do usually always vape some at night. It has been the combination of the three that keeps me satisfied and off of cigarettes except for the occasional slip. Snus is somewhat slow release so I use snuff if I am having a craving and need a quick fix or sometimes just use it because I enjoy the scent.

rothen, you kinda sound like me, 2-3pks/day but vaping has brought me down to a half pk to a pack a day.

Hitt talked to Ms PTJD and they delivered your package yesterday, I'll be home Friday and will give it a try, Thanks again.

I still vape a bit, but not as much as I did in the beginning. Snus is just a much more reliable method of scratching my itch than vaping alone ever was. And snuff, I just keep around for fun (and a quick fix when needed). It's been an interesting past six months getting to know all the different options.

Just another day here at the office. Getting by with General Wintergreen, WoS Chocolate Orange, and Coffee.
