14 inches of brand new clean snow..... and 30mph sustained winds with gust of 50mpg........ welcome to winter in the northlands. Lots of fun for sure. Walked the 25 minutes to work and it wasn't bad, but on the way home I was walking through 2 foot drifts. I certainly appreciate the fact that I don't have to stand outside and have a smoke. Instead I just have a

Morning all. Stubby, bless you. It looks like we got a bit lucky with the ice storm. I'm sending this so that means that the sat dish didn't get iced over again from 2 in the morning when I had to go out and hot water it. Not sure how the driving will be but apparently the temp is rising so I think we got somewhat lucky. Hey, I have electricity and any time we have a major weather event, it's good to have electric. I've gone three days without in the past and that is absolutely no fun.

we should be good until at least Saturday before more snow.

Good morning folks. I made it to work almost on time this morning. I don't know for sure how much snow we got but I cleared about 8 inches or so off of the driveway yesterday when I got home and it looked like I backed thru another six or eight this morning. It's hard to tell since the wind is blowing it so much. After getting out of my neighborhood it wasn't too bad on the main streets and highway. I did see a few cars in the ditch but would guess that it was from yesterday. There were four of us here this morning so far. Of course the guy with the big four wheel drive truck with the 33" tires hasn't made it in yet. Better go do something now.

hitt: no 33" mudder can beat a regular offroad radial .they sell ones that look like skid steer tires. i have seen my share of lifted , boggered turcks get pulled out by a jeep cherokee with radial offroads. ask me how i know. mudders are for chicks . thats my opinion...

we got about 2" of rain last night , when i went to bed it was 29' , and when i woke up this morning it was 42. needless to say im wearing shorts and a bermuda shirt to work today (and i work outside). ... ...

That's too funny hova. Mudders are for girls huh? Too funny. My jeep got me home thru the blizzard and back to work again this morning on time. The guy with the big truck called in and is taking a vacation day. Another guy with a regular f150 four wheel drive isn't coming in either. Heck even the accounting lady that usually won't come in if we get one flake of snow made it in this morning with her toyota camry. I told her she has to give the guys that didn't come in a bunch of grief tomorrow. That is if they make it in. I am jealous about the 42 degrees. It was five when I left this morning and isn't supposed to warm up much.

I know what you mean about the mudders. I inherited a truck I financed for my gf's son that put them on, then couldn't keep up with the truck payments. Those tires were so bad in everything from wet roads to snow and I was so PO'd that he wasted his money of fancy tires that were good for only one thing that I went down to the tire shop, replaced the tires with all weather's and told them to keep the tires. I didn't even want to see them again, let alone go to the effort of trying to sell them.

I suppose someone got a good deal on some hardly worn tires, but I was able to forget about them,,, until now.

Roth, they probably sold them to some "chick". Sorry, I'm still chuckling over that one.

sorry bout that hitt , i mean they are for picking up chicks. not that only girls buy them. but i dont believe in them one bit. we call em balloons over here. unless youre driving on loose ground where you need that big footprint (gotta drop them to 15-20psi) , then they just spin like crazy. thats where they really shine is on beadlocks at <20psi . other than that ,i know guys that love em , put em on their old f150's , and off road to them means a gravel driveway.

i has a cherokee tsi , thats awd , and i have had it buried up to the punkins several times , and walked right out. i love this weather btw.

its been a long day so i wont get into all that, i just wanted to let ya know i wasnt calling you a girl for having boggers.

I don't have them. Just that one guy that works here has them on his old chevy pick up. I still thought it was funny though.

I made it to work today in my sedan with 4 studded snow tires. Had to wait until the plow went through a couple of times, but I made it. roth, we didn't get as much here as they were calling for, either.
