Default Nasal Snuff-What goes in must go out. How?

Ok so you inhale a dark powder into your nose.

    What do you do later.?
Do you blow your nose.? Suck the secretions out the other way.?
Irrigate with water.? Use a Saline Nasal Spray.

I'm really curious what I should be doing to clean that stuff out and when.

And go ahead and pick as well tom. Discreetly mind, but hey, snuff boogers bounce

    Yes to all the above.
You do want to keep your nose clean and moist. Chlorinated water will tend to dry the nose out so use that sparingly.

Your nose and body chemistry is going to be different from others so no hard fast rules. You will also find that you'll need to vary whatever steps you employ depending on the snuff you are using and the weather.

Weather, either cold or hot, that is very low humidity, will make your nose dry. Some snuffs will clog your nose faster than others.

You'll determine that as you go.

I personally pick and blows as needs be. If I've been using, something like a Scotch perhaps, for awhile, I find the inside of the nose is coated. Not heavily, but there is nothing to pick or blow and I can no longer absorb a fresh pinch. When that happens I like to use a snuff that's mentholated. Makes the sinuses run, give me something to blow! Start all over again.

Keep it clean and moist, main thing.

Tom....I "Clean out" twice a day with my neti pot! I have a bad habit of forgetting to blow out after a snuff....Usually after 4 or 5 pinches I give the nose a good "honk"(I generally only "pick" at home behind closed doors..LOL)The Wiz!

any recommendations for a nose-clearing nasal spray? right now i have a cold and am using a congestion relieving spray, but the bottle says not to use more than 3 days in a row. it's probably not a good idea to use the medicinal sprays on a day to day basis..

what sprays do YOU ALL use?

i will probably be investing in a neti pot soon, but i'm looking for something safe to use for extended periods of time, that also works well on the go

I use Ayr which is a saline spray ( I carry this and use it throughout the day)

I also use a product that is called Simply Saline, this one will squirt a stream of saline up your nostril (I use this one every now and then at home when I have no time for the neti pot)

And I use the Neti pot ,you mix the salt and water and pour a half a pot through each nostril. ( I use at least once a day when showering)

You can purchase all of these at Walgreens or Walmart. The Neti Pot is around 19.99 I think but you do have to purchase a tub of the salt with it.

I find I have very little problems with snuff sticking to long in my nose using these products. The Ayr keeps the nose moist and I tend to blow a little bit after using it, this gets rid of most of the old snuff. What remains is taken care of when I use the other two products at home.

I been stuffing a lot of snuff up there lately and have had no problems at all with my nose.

sly the neti pot will also help with your cold. I rarely have to use anything in my nose when I have a cold other than my neti pot.

It does wonders for the stuffies.

Those decongestion sprays get your nose addicted and it just gets stuffier and stuffier making you squirt in more spray for relief.
