I just usually keep it in one place and keep my saliva away from it except for sparingly wetting it with my tongue.

I can seriously keep a snus whether its general original or Discreet to last me for 1 and a half hours with the same flavor/intensity which isn't much at all.

Should I be keeping the snus soaked in saliva? Should I swallow the salty runoff from the snus right away?

I feel retarded here, like I'm missing a damn instruction manual or something. lol
Try keeping it soaked, I hate to say it, but you have to try different things to figure out what works for you. Swallow, spit, whatever you're comfortable with. (oh boy, what did I just say...)

The flavor for me lasts from 1 to 2 hours depending on what is in my mouth. I also move it around once in a while depending on my nic requirements. If I want less nic, I put it against my lower jaw. It seems to stay drier that way. If I need more nic, I put it up top where the saliva seems to run more for me and it seems to deliver more nic.

Do the math normal Mini Snus such as discrete only have 4mg of nicotine.

Try the Thunder Frosted they pack a wallop or the Thunder Mini.

Thunder Mini will give you twice as much nic (8mg) and the Frosted 4 times more (16mg).

Everywhere I read it says the snus should only last 20-30 minutes? I can understand that the discrete snus is weaker but what about my General Originals that don't seem to do much for me anyway?

The General originals lasted me anywhere from 1-2 hours depending on what I was drinking with them. If I drank a lot of anything, the flavor seemed to wash out in about an hour. If I didn't, the flavor would last longer.

I have read reviews on the getsnus forum that talk about flavors lasting up to 2 hours depending on how strong a flavor it is. I haven't tried any of the stronger flavored ones yet(at least I don't think so) so I really couldn't tell you anything about them.

I'm thinking that is roughly the accepted time it takes to get the nic from a portion.

Aside from that, hell yes Bog. Move the portion around, get it wet, press and squeeze, or place it and let it sit. I do all of that to get everything I can from a portion.

I seem to lose most flavor around 30 minutes. General Wintergreen and LD Black hold up for flavor around an hour. I have had the darn things in for up to 2 hours, but that's simply cuz I've forgotten they were there!

Swallow the extra saliva, I do, "ain't nobody's business but my own", and if you do move the portion much be gentle. The pouch material does get soft and can tear. Not too awfully big a deal if it does tear, just loose tobacco in the mouth.

General OP doesn't do much for you? Try some of the Sterk (strong) portions. You'll be going from 8mg to, depending on brand, 9 to 11mg/portions. And then of course the Ekstra Sterk(extra strong) snus, 12mg as high as 17mg. Shiver!

Instruction Manual? Not really but this is close Snus Portion Sizes, Strength levels, IR Confused
    (-; Poof :D

A Thunder Frosted a pinch or two of "Toque Quit" nasal snuff and I guarantee you'll reach cloud nine Nic satisfaction.

If Snus alone aren't doing it for you try Nasal Snuff. Nasal Snuff is the only Cigarette alternative I've found that gives you a quick Nicotine Hit. It works really well with Snus. Snus maintain the Nic Level and Snuff elevates it.

I suggest Toque Quit because it's wicked strong, has a great consistency and taste.

similar to the toque quit, you could also try the McCrystals S'Nuff, which is their smokers blend. I can't pick out the flavors of this one yet, since i've been ill. i will be able to review it soon!

That's a good way to put it, tom. I have a portion in most of my waking hours, but when I need a boost or a mind clearing I toot some Scotch and the train's back on the rails. And in a time-frame that rivals a cigarette .
I'll check in later when I find out where I am, provided I'm still where I left myself .

I am not sure what everyone else is doing but I put my portions near the back of my mouth in the top between the lip and gum. If it is a white portion then I take a drink of water and swish it to wet the portion. I can taste the flavor and depending on what kind it is can feel the flavored saliva go down my throat. I usually start to lose the flavor after about 20-30 minutes and then move the portion and sqeeze it some between my tongue and top of my mouth to get the rest of the flavor out before discarding it. I personally did not like the flavor of either of the discreet ones that I tried but everyones tastes are different. As far as nic hit, I didn't notice much from it.

Tipping your head down, not letting it sit too high in the cheek and touching with tongue should all help release it faster. Do you have a white or I guess dry portion you are using? They take longer to release because they arent coated.
