Default health risks associated with snuff?

Ok, lay it on me, what are they? Also, how risky is it compared to swedish snus, stonewalls, cigs, etc.
I did look through old threads but I could not find any info. I hate to google it because...well, it might scare me and the flavors look yummy and I want to try it. I'd like to know the honest risks, not the google terror fest that I find whenever I do a google search on anything.
Thanks in advance, veteran snuff users!
if you're happy and you know it pop a snus!

over 500 years of use, and relatively no health risks, from what i understand. while no tobacco product can be 100% safe, snuff is 98% safer than cigarettes, and, at least in my opinion, a little safer than snus and other oral tobaccos. while snus, too, is MUCH safer than cigarettes, snus has been caused receding gum lines in some users.

i'm sure the veterans, such as TB, can provide more insight on this topic.

i know that e-cig + snuff, and a snus from time to time keeps me away from smoking

definitely! basically a year's supply of snuff is the same cost as less than a carton of cigarettes... $70+ for a carton of smokes in the city of chicago, at least $50 in the subarbs...

snuff is saving me so much money...

and i haven't been wasting money on PVs and accessories either!

I agree. I need the max maoi action and I can't toot enough snuff, but it's a great boost for me. I'm hardcore snus these days, with a little snuff as a side-order. Many smokers have quit with snuff alone, though. It's cheap and there seems to be an endless variety of flavors and nic strengths. The only downside is to resist the temptation to lip it. That can cause some problems. Other than that I say go for it .
I'll check in later when I find out where I am, provided I'm still where I left myself .

Good info, i do have quite a bit of scotches and sweet snuffs... maybe i'll try a lip from some of my 1.15oz tubs(although I probably will prefer them in my nose!) If I still smoked my tobacco pipe, I might even try this:

Many pipe smokers have also taken to the old English act of adding a sprinkle of their favorite snuff into their burning bowl of pipe tobacco for an added aroma, taste, and nicotine boost.

Sly....Just ask OTD about his experience with Honey Bee under the lip....On second thought don't ask him...It will bring back his "Tummy Ache"(He did post his comments somewhere in this general area!)

Good to know! I never enjoy a tummy-ache....

But next time some of my pipe-tobacco smoking friends come over, i might try a sprinkle of snuff on top of the pipe!

I don't know if TB is checking this thread, but if anyone has tried this yet I bet it's been TB! Curious to know how well it works, and how well the flavor comes through. I did gave up the pipe awhile ago, and only got into the milder aromatic tobaccos, but I might go back to it for a 'relaxer' from time-to-time.
