So I was thinking, an original portion snus from general has 8mg of nic in it. Your 7 drops had a total of 11.2 mg of nic in it i your using the 24mg liquid or 7.49 mg if your using the 16mg liquid. If you figure that there are just 10 pinchs in a can of smokey mountian then your getting 11.2 / 10 equals 1.2 mg of nic per pinch at best. The lining of your mouth is only about 60% eficient at absorbing the nic so if the pinch has 1.2 mg your getting about 1.2*.6= 0.72 mg of nic per pinch. This is nowhere near enough nic, a good cig has at least 1mg of nic, so I am in the process of running this experiment with a can of cherry smokey mountian. 1) I emptied the can into an old butter tub so that I could mix better. 2) I added 10 drops of high (16mg) vannila liquid to the contents of the can. If 24mg liquid has 1.6mg of nic per drop then 16mg liquid has (1.6*16)/24 = about 1.07 mg per drop. so my 10 drops added 10*1.07= 10.7 mg of nic to the can. If the can has ten pinchs then this gives me about 1mg of nic per pinch. My guess is that I won't feel much if any effect since my normal snus has 8mg of nic per pouch. I have not tried my concoction yet (it's chilling in my mini-fridge), as I figured I'd open this up for comment before I dove in. Is there anything that I have not thought of? |

update. Allowed the stuff to hang out in the fridge for about hours and then tried a pinch. Wow, it definitly had a bit of a kick which I wasn't expecting. I hadn't eaten for awhile when I tried it and I'm not sure if this had an impact so I'll try it after eating and give an update. Definitly don't think I'd want to go much higher than the ten drops per can I used. Not sure why such little nic is having an effect, anyone have any ideas?

Another possibility is absorption rates. Nicotine delivered via eliquid onto membranes is likely absorbed at a different rate than nicotine contained within pouched snus tobacoo (for example). Also not sure on how evenly it is really distributed when you mix. Since some of us get blistery bumps from membrane contact with eliquid, it makes me a bit nervous to read about it being used like this. I know you're all pretty ingenious and hope you're equally safe! | |

thats so cool jason. have you developed any abrasions in your lip? i havent, so all is well. Im glad that others on this forum are trying this out. If we can help reduce the harm of dip by adding e-liquid to herbal snuff, it a good day!! not to mention the world of possibilities as far as flavor combinations. Please post all experiments on this topic good and bad. so far i have only tried this with smokey mountain and it worked well. I have some unopened cans of hooch snuff that i will be trying this on. stay tuned!!

I must be missing something here, would it not be easier to try real snuff? It's been around for hundreds of years and has been proved to be about the safest way of using tobacco (That's not to say it's completely safe) If I have missed the obvious please excuse my ignorance

A post from the past ... You're not missing a thing, Pete. Snus would be even better. But Jason -- haven't heard from him in awhile -- was experimenting. I've done similar. Sigh. I miss Jamie, too. She was one of the brightest posters this forum had. |

Er ... please look at the DATES that posts were made. That was more than a year ago. It was his experiment and he learned. We all did. Long ago. It was best forgotten, never to be brought up again. Ah, but with your comment, you brought this Frankenstein experiment back to life. It rose to the top of the thread list, bringing attention to something no one should try. Let old posts rest in peace. |
