Treat yourself to the Janty Stick. (twisp stick) You won't be sorry. You'll never look for anything... except a wall socket again

Managed to get a Stick in JHB last week....battled a bit 'cos the distributors haven't officially released them in gauteng yet.

I started on the 901 and 801, then bought a screwdriver from trog (pricey especially since I got hit with VAT by the PO ). The SD is a really great PV and I love using it at home....but it is bulky to carry around all day. So I bought a Stick - loved it for a couple of hours on Friday and then a couple more on saturday morning after which it just died on me. won't work on battery or USB .

Good news is that it will be replaced by the reseller, so I can't wait to have it going again.

to follow up - my Twisp/Janty Stick has been replaced for a working unit. Fantastic service from Ann Becker (Twisp reseller) who was more than happy to help me out with this

Hi - I've registered with the forum and joined the SA social group, but see I cannot start a new thread. I'm a smoker, keen to try e-cigs, but have some questions. If I can't start a thread, where's the best place to seek advice from the old hands?

    Thanks,
    Scotch

    Welcome Scotch.

I'm pretty sure you have to post a few times before you can start a thread though...
I would recommend you read the main forums as your general questions relating to taking up vaping (e-cigs) from tobacco smoking will likely have answers there- use the search function to refine your search. Also in the South African Forums all members can answer your questions too if you are still battling for answers. Try asking away here...loads of people willing and able to help. Welcome to the wonderful world of e-cigs.

Thanks Vaporista - I'll go through the main forums as suggested and learn as much as possible. However, I'd also like to ask here to get the benefit of local knowledge as it's all a bit confusing for someone who's never tried an e-cig - and it can be an expensive exercise if you get it wrong (unlike buying a "loose" from the local cafe).

I smoke on average 10 Camel a day, first one after breakfast, balance through the rest of the day. I work alone at home, most the time in front of a computer, so do smoke in my "office".

Have quit previously (patches, Xyban, Allen Carr's books), last time for about two months earlier this year, but somehow always revert so feel e-cigs could be the way to go.

But I simply don't know where to start. There are stockists of Twisp in Maritzburg where I live, but from this forum it sounds better to order online where there's a wider selection, and at better prices. Should I just order one of the starter packs (eg Econ 8084d or Classic 801e from Cig-E), and hope it works out for the best?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    Scotch

    Hi,

I'm a oldish pensioner geezer who's been smoking for almost half a century and if I carry on, I'll likely be in serious trouble soon, but I can't stop, already I'm taking emphysema medication. I heard about e-cigarettes and have spent quite a few hours researching on the net. Lucky for me, I found this forum and realise that everything I thought I knew about vaping was rubbish. Basically, I have to make the switch and soon or else.....

My posts seem to work if shorter so excuse me posting in bits.

I guess after so many years of smoking, I could be decribed as a cigarette rapist, just rip the packaging off, grab the cigarette and go for it! For this reason, most e-cigs seem to be a time consuming hassle and a nuisance, requiring loads of fiddling and faffling, with very iffy rewards and unlikely to replace my analogue cigarettes. (Learning the jargon sowly ).

This was confirmed when I tried some e-cigs at a Smoker's shop and a flea market, brands such as Njoy, Lung Buddy and Twisp. The only one that got any sort of vapour going was an Njoy pen-style with 'medium' liquid, but even that was wispy at best. However, the sensation did hold promise, as the analogue I lit up in the car going home, tasted a bit flat.

The advice of Vaporista and many others coincides totally with my thinking i.e. go big or go home. The message is clear, if I can convert my car to be an e-cig, by filling the tank with e-juice, using the engine as a atomiser powered by the car battery...... then I should do so!
