So, on Vaporista's advice, the only worthwhile e-cig available in SA appears to be the Twisp Stick. Can it take anyone's juice or only Twisp's (quite expensive)? If it can, where's the best place to get juice (24mg-re Vaporista) from?
Stephen: Your talk of a 'screwdriver' is very promising. Is it a local manufacturer? Will quality/spares/reliability/availability be an issue? Will they make beta versions available for local testing? Please tell all.

In my experience (over the past 3 months), I tend to agree with Vaporista's comments on most counts. I have the screwdriver and Twisp stick (as well as both the 901 and 801) and I honestly find the stick to be the best option for me. The absolute BIGGEST advantage it holds over the others is the USB charging. If you spend time in front of a computer, in the car or even sitting in the same chair at home, you can keep the battery charging while you vape and so don't generally have to worry about charging additional batteries or even changing the battery. The only time I change the battery is if I am out for a few hours in the evening or over weekends. If you go this route, make sure you buy the extra battery charger (R100) so that you can charge a flat battery outside of the stick itself if necessary.
I often use my screwdriver in the evenings (its size means I'm not willing to lug it around with me during the day) and although I really enjoy vaping on it, the fact that I know I'll eventually have to go and change the battery usually pushes me back to the stick.
Other than the battery issue, it comes down to which atomiser you are comfortable with - the stick uses the same atomiser as the penstyle (801) which I enjoy and they are easily obtainable from various local and overseas dealers.
You will want to try different styles of PV at some point and really need to find what you are comfortable with. There is an initial inconvenience associated with vaping (when compared to just taking out a smoke and lighting it) but in the long run it becomes as much a routine as anything else in life...and a far more pleasant habit!
My girlfriend and I both quit analogs early August and haven't looked back. I have found talking to others is one of the important factors is that it has to be YOUR choice to quit tobacco and not under pressure from others, otherwise the inconvenience factor may weigh too heavily against you keeping going with vaping.

Picked up my Twisp/Janty stick over the counter at Hirsch this afternoon for R950. So much for Twisp's 'free postage' if you buy from them online @ R999.95, buggers have the postage built in to their price.
Only hassle is Hirsch sell only the starter packs, so no USB Mains adaptor, no spare atomiser and no Mains charger.Feeling a bit crippled by this, not sure where to get these things?
It's assembled and plugged into my PC and the light went out after a few seconds, are the batteries pre-charged? How long should the initial charge be?

My box from Twisp came with the two pin usb port adaptor which then goes into the wall socket two pin into three pin, so I'm not sure what you got. You should have 2 batteries and the Usb cable with the two pin adaptor and a box of cartridges . What you should do install one of the batteries and then plug itinto your computer usb port (power on!) then watch the red pilot light band aound the bottom of the Twisp stick light up. This means its charging the battery. Let it have a good initial charge overnight or 12 hours then you can use it. You may find it easier to use an ipod charger because this gives a stronger current than the computer usb. The Twisp "toasted High" carts that came with it, don't pack much of a punch though and have left my throat dry.I purchased a Twisp Stick from Hirschs, Strubens Valley in Jo’burg today which came with a USB cable for charging off a computer. The person who recommended the Stick to me says her stick came with the USB cable as well as a 2 pin USB/Mains adapter. The included components description on your website is ambiguous and says “1x USB Pass through + Charger”. I’m confused, should I have received a USB/Mains adapter with my Twisp Stick? I certainly believe this to be essential.
I have some further concerns: Having done some research before choosing the Stick, I wanted to ensure I was properly set up and equipped, so I asked for a spare atomiser, a mains loose battery charger (your website recommends your ‘cigar charger’ for this size battery), and the USB/Mains adapter. Hirsch had none of these accessories and sell only the starter kits and liquids. As an “agent” and therefore an extension of Twisp, why are they so poorly stocked? I tried a second retailer, Smoker’s Corner, Clearwater Mall, and they had none of these items, not even the Stick itself. A third retailer off your website list, Medicross Pharmacy Westgate, Don’t carry your product at all.
Where am I to get the Twisp components I need? What happens if something fails and I can’t get spares?
Another query: I’d read on your website that the Stick uses the same atomiser as your ‘Classic’, the assistant at Hirschs tried an atomizer from a Classic and it was much thinner than the Stick atomiser and didn’t fit, please clarify?
Please help me make my Twisp experience pleasurable and hassle free.

The Janty/twisp stick will hold the M201 atomiser as well if you can't find a twisp one (The M201 is also bigger)
Twisp unfortunately overcharges for all their stuff but the new packaged oils (if you like low nicotine-max 15mg strength ) at 20ml sizes are good value. Beware of old stock floating around in their liquids- their old 10ml black and white bottles are being sold by the unscrupulous retailers at the price of the 20ml bottles with the orange tops.The rest of the hardware stuff is generic and can be found through other suppliers- this is basically the whole Twisp range except the Janty Stick which Twisp have badged with their name via some sort of presumed licensing agreement with Janty.
The people who supply the Bricks and Mortar on behalf of Twisp are the ones to blame for no stock them and the fact the popularity of e-cigs is rocketing so stock levels may be low all around. The Twisp independent sales reps are in my experience a relatively lazy bunch who don't know much about their products.
The reason Twisp toasted High carts don't pack much punch is because they, while tasting sort of ok, only contain 15mg strength Nicotine. Try 24mg strength or even 18mg strength (unfortunately not available thru Twisp but available online with suppliers here at less than half the price of Twisp liquids and you will see and feel the difference. Some people like to prime the atty with a drop or add a drop to the carts. Get the liquids because if you don't you'll soon get that burnt taste from the carts filling on the atty...The carts evaporate very quickly on the stick because of the power-at about twice the rate of the penstyle.
Drink fluids for the first few days to relieve dryness as this is common but will pass, otherwise look into VG based liquids (especially if you have a bad reaction to PG based liquids which nearly all of ours are)
Happy vaping. Remember withScrewdriver/Janty/ Twisp stick on mains power + 18/24/36mg liquids and Usb = Bigger punch than camel filters

Had my first mobile vaping experience today, had to go out for a short while and took the stick instead of my JPS. Must admit I sat in the car vaping for a few minutes and then at every opportunity on the journey. It didn't really do the job, but I can definitely see the promise in it if I was properly equipped with power supply and more potent go-go juice.
Which of the suppliers here could sort me out........ quickly?!

There's chat of a new cleaning method in the forums. It's that mouthwash which we have here under a different name (but contains the same ingredient as the American one) It's Cepasol,not sure of the spelling though. Other people mention Polident maximum strength fizzing tablets (the stuff ol Ouma parks her choppers in at bedtime) I haven't tried either yet though. The trick is to see if there is debris in the wash- flakes from the atty- that shows the solution is cleaning.
I think alcohol is not the best anymore it removed taste only but never cleaned the atty/improved performance after gunk build up and Hydrogen peroxide doesn't work because it attacks the soldering on the attys so don't use this.
Anyone else got effective atty cleaning experiences here.
I think one should try to revive a dying or dead atty as it has been shown to work on the main forums. I'm not saying it will work for sure but unless you try you never know and replacing attys unnecessarily... that's just throwing money away...

My quest for a mains/USB adaptor has failed, I tried the general electronic route i.e. Makro.... nada, then the computer peripheral route i.e. Incredible Corruption and Matrix.... nada. IC has an Ipod mains/USB charger for R349.... meh! Also unavailable are the wall battery charger and car charger, can't even order them off Twisp's website because they're not listed. Twisp just leave me powerless.
