Well Doug, it's a matter of personal preference really. I have tried Malborough, Camel, Dunhil and Winston as the tabocco goes all high except I did try Malborough Extra High one (36mg) and it was too high, although it gave a good kick in the pants with my Cigar, so I use it when super stressed! My Fav is Camel, it's kinda sweet, but not too sweet! Cola and Red Bull rock!!!!!!! And I often mix Cola and Camel. Red Bull is great on it's own, but not for everyday vaping. So agree with Vapourista. Dunhill is actually very nice as well!!!!Winston is not too bad either. Oh and I have tried Cuban Cigar a bit of an acquired taste really.

A lot of suppliers have testers, well Cig-E do and let you try before you buy.

Ok, the following recommendations have peaked my interest:

    Primary: RY4; Mild7; 555: Kent & Cola

Secondary: Dunhill; B&H; Virginia; Menthol; Red Bull

Still curious about French Pipe, will try if I can find.

    Missed anything essential?

Spent a couple of hours this morning with Steve at Cig-E, trying all of the above and much more, except RY4 which he doesn't deal in, says he'll get some for me. I was doing my best not to inhale too much but still managed a nicotene overdose and feel kinda ill right now. Test rig was a pair of J118's, alternating to let them cool down (damn they get hot quick!), and a few attys to reduce flavour overlap.

Must say, I am very disappointed, the majority of the flavours were weak and unimpressive and none of them hit me as THE ONE! The only truly strong flavours were the nuttiness of 555, the raspberry of Red Bull and the mintiness of Menthol, none of which tasted good to me and I wouldn't be able to vape them for long. He got me to try some Dekang juice too, slightly better but still not THERE. When he brought out a bagful of exotics, I called a stop to testing.

I'm kinda stunned and speechless right now, the carrot dangling in front of me (vaping), to help me give up smoking, has been snatched away, leaving me feeling lost and directionless. The mere possibility I may be dependant on Twisp juice in future makes me panic because of the cost.

Something is wrong. What could be the problem? Cheap juice? The J118's? My taste buds?

Steve is a star, exceedingly friendly and helpful. Even lent me a 5v, 1A Ipod charging set (wall and car), to try out on a pay if you like it basis. That too was unimpressive and my Stick took much longer to charge on the wall than on my PC. His missus makes a uniquely splendid iced-coffee too. That at least was awesomely flavourful and at least provided proof my taste buds were still working.

Something about my testing regime must have made an impression on him, because he's asked me to come back next week and test his new stock. Seemed a little concerned about my comments on lack of flavour. Or, maybe he can't find too many people willing to almost put themselves in hospital on his behalf.

Going to smoke an analog now, can't face my Stick.

Don't be ridiculous. Rather stick with it and get some McCrystals Original Snuff, and snort a very small pea sized pinch in each nostril. It'll ward off the craving so well you will wonder what on earth you were thinking about analogs. Try other Juice from other suppliers here after that.
I suspect you are not doing something right, not quite sure what it is though. But whatever you do, forget the cigarettes.

Doug Vaping isn't for everybody! One thing to bear in mind is that vaping is not smoking and will never taste like smoking, which is guff IMHO, well now so more than 59 Days agao. I also wasn't too impressed at first, but try TWSIP liquid as an example, that is proper ugly tasting juice!

Try some other vendors, Vaping101 comes to mind. You will find that most liquid from Stephen, Cig-E, Vaping 101 are top stuff, it's a paradigm shift you need to take.

Oh and the J118 isn't a bad unit at all FYI

Bought a 'safe' Virginia 20mg, 30ml juice from Steve to vape longer term without other flavour interference. A comparison with the Twisp Virginia High, using a Twisp Stick:

Twisp Virginia High (said to be 15mg?):

Flavour: Pleasantly high but slightly acrid

Vapour: Fair to good volume for an hour or two, then starts to reduce as cart dries. Requires topping 3 to 4 times a day.

Throat affect: No to mild hit if I take a deep draw, no lingering irritation

Stomach affect: Mild discomfort if vaped too intensely, need to eat something to settle

Chest affect: Mild shortness of breath after a few hours

Effectiveness against analogs: 50%. I smoked half my usual number per day, cravings persist.

Cost effectiveness: Very poor, R245 for 20ml. Lasts well however.

    Cig-E's no-name brand: Marked Virginia 20mg

Flavour: None discernable, not very pleasant

Vapour: High volume for less than an hour, then reduces sharply as cart dries. Requires frequent topping.

Throat affect: No to mild hit if I take a really deep draw, Leaves throat burning

Chest affect: Mild shortness of breath and light chest pains after a few hours

Stomach affect: Mild discomfort if vaped too intensely, need to eat something to settle

Effectiveness against analogs: 95%. I smoked 1 today, cravings suppressed.

Cost effectiveness: Excellent, R99 for 30ml. Burns up fast however.

Overall, fighting analogs effectively and economically is my main objective and the Twisp juice fails, so Cig-E's juice wins by default, but it's not nice. I've tried with some success topping 75%/25% Cig-E/Twisp to get some flavour. Busy trying a smudge of Vanilla/Caramel essence from the kitchen during topping. What can I say, I'm a flavour craver.

Hey Doug. Search the main forums for discussions on using food flavouring in the attys. I know there are varied opinions about flavours with added sugar, etc which can potentially ruin the atty (because of the heat being applied).

You should not really be using the kitchen kind of flavours, you need to buy absolute flavours...

Relax, it was just a test to establish the ability of different nicotene strength liquids to take on flavours. Low does, high doesn't = end of test.

It's been shown on the forums that over 24mg nic content that flavours tend to lessen- to the point of non discernment, maybe that's a reason why most manufacturers limit the "non tobacco" flavours esp the fruit flavours to 18mg nic. In any case it's likely that the Nicotine content will keep you off the cigarettes, not the flavours. If you ask me, they all taste bleh, some less than others. You are not going to find a flavour in SA that our Yank friends are wetting their pants over, like double creme caramel blueberry pop tarts, because they make different juices over there using lorann flavourings while our suppliers buy nearly 100% chinese juice either preflavoured or they cut it down when it arrives. To make this tolerable I've found for myself that mixing a few drops of Kent with cola and a dash of 555 makes a big difference. You will either crave sweet or not or a combination. Just mix and match and you'll find what works for you. Try the juices of other suppliers too.
