Default Initial Review: Greencig G300 2 piece e-cig

Going to post this in Video reviews as well, as it seems people look in different places. This is a *long* review, which in total (3 parts) shows the insides of the GreenCig carts, as well as what else the GC carts fit on, and with different batteries. (They do fit on KR808D-1 as well as E9s).

Video Reviews section posit is here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/for...-new-post.html

edit - just for Drew - here's the 'mini, short version,' fewer comparisons...YT finally finished dealing with it.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xIhoTw4VxY

The next 3 are including more comparisons and parts exchange with the KR and e9, as well as some cart dissection.

Stand by for the other parts, they're uploading, but..part 1 of 3. (Will *try* to do a quick 'to the point' single summary video if I have time later, for now..deal with it )

Part 1: (video still showing as processing, so may be blurry until YT is done with it)
YouTube - GreenCig G300 Initial Review Part 1 of 3

    part 2:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPEOjdgOmNQ

    Part 3:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58evKyQwWPQ

There's a shorter condensed version without much comparison to the others, but YT is giving me grief, may or may not upload it.

Well, I look at it this way - we may not wind up (you and I, or others) have the identical opinion on the greencigs, but you've been great to deal with regardless, so, gotta give props where they're due.. :-)

Wegster, just an FYI. As you have been talking about the greencig you have
been alternating between calling it the Greencig as well as the Green Smoke.

Just so people don't get confused, there is another brand of e-cig called the Green Smoke. It's another E9 like the Red Dragon, so it's a different animal than the greencig you are reviewing....

@RSL - ya, I know (alt between GC and GS)...mental block in there somehow, and made them 'mentally equivalent..doh :-( Thanks for clarifying.

The RD is really just an e9, though..didn't know there's *another* Green-* though. At this point, just so NOT redoing these again though! :-)

Yeah, I know it's long, hard not to be, but people often say 'how it it compared to X,' and in this case, I have X and Y (KR and e9/u9) for a direct comparison.

I've got a shorter condensed version, may upload it later for those 'ok, quick, tell me!' types (which I don't blame them, it *is* long!).

If you had a single G220 battery for comparison, I'd buy one, but right now, just bought a pair of shorter KR batteries. The KR batteries (at least the long ones) do thread into the PCC ok, so am hopeful on the shorty KR batteries. If those work, and the carts hol up, that would be a nice combo - the longer drags really let you 'reach' throat hit.

Dripping your own liquids (in my case, 24mg or 36mg) into the GC cart *will* produce a decent throat hit within the battery cutoff time. Decent, but not like the 510, or KR, or GC cart + KR, so..it's relative. Someone was saying they got too much throat hit from KR carts...a G300 might be *perfect* for them, if they like the cart/$ tradeoff.

Will see if I can post the 'shorty' video later, and will do a followup in a week or two, to see how it fares longer term - how long the carts and battery last, and if the KR shorties fit the PCC, etc. "Out of the box experience" it's really down to pricing (vs cart life and re-use, which right now, for me, is better than the KR carts I've had), and the battery cut-off.

I received a box of the Greencig carts today and I'll share my thoughts on the carts themselves.

I have 2 sets of KR808D-1 batteries. One set with 2 holes, the other with 4 holes. The carts simply don't work on the 4 hole battery version, so if anyone is planning on buying these carts for their KR batteries, make sure your battery isn't a 4 hole version as you just don't get a draw from them.

On the 2 hole version of the battery, the cart works well as you saw in Wegsters video review. I made an effort to count how many drags I got off the cart before it died. I got about 70 of them. Note that this is with a full 7 second drag each time. So with the battery which comes with the greencig with the 3 second cutoff, you'll obviously get a good 150 or more drags off the cart.

I'll be counting drags on the next cart I use to see if it's any different. But at 70 drags that's about the equivalent to 6 or 7 analogs. So at $3 apiece for a cart they certainly are not cheap and actually more expensive that analogs. The question now is can these carts be refilled in any way? As Wegster mentioned it certainly looks like you could at least drip in them. I'll be trying that next.

The good news about these carts is that unlike the E9 and KR808D-1 (aka Vapor King) the carts don't burn up inside. When the cart goes dry the vapor simply stops and you know it's time for another cart. So that's the way it should work with these disposable carts. With the E9 and Vapor King carts the material inside starts to burn even before you even taste it and if one wanted to, you could vape/smoke on those carts until everything was completely burned up inside! In fact I saw a post on the forum yesterday from some person who had been using his Smoke51 (E9) cartridge for 4 days and he was wondering when it would stop working!

But the design of these Greencig cart/atomizers looks to be full proof. I ripped my apart and everything looked great inside. And that 'hair' Wegster talked about is really interesting. I'd really like to know what that stuff is!

Thanks for the review Wegster !

RSL...nice post. How many puffs do you get with KR808d carts? I know you have stopped using them but I am trying to see how many vapes did you get on average out of the KR carts. For such a large cartridge the greencig should provide more than 70 hits. You know I prefill my KR carts. I can get 200 puffs out of them easy.

I couldn't see on the video...but is there a metallic bridge over the coils as well or just a coil and those hairs. If there is no bridge then it would be very easy to drip from the battery end....so $3 price tag would be actually a good price if these can in fact be refilled and/or topped off.

Wagster....the short batteries are all 4 hole batteries...so they won't work with the greencig carts. They don;t have the channel on the positive contact of the battery like the two holes. You can create a channel with a hacksaw....but then you can also do that with a 901 battery and it will work.
