I've never said the VX2 (J118) is a '510 Killer' and I don't think anyone who has one has ever made that statement. I've always just said that the VX2 is the same league as the 510 and it's become part of my daily rotation with my 510.

I'd say vapor production between the two is pretty darn close, with a slight nod to the 510. However, I think the 510 atomizers are a little more durable and don't require as much maintenance to keep the performance up. But I really have to use the VX2 more before I decide if that atomizer statement is correct.

As to throat hit I would again give the nod to the 510, but only by a small margin.

When people compare the two I think you have to decide what's most important to you. The 510 has a slightly better throat hit and vapor, but the VX2 has better cart life and battery life. So for a person new to vaping and wanted the best bang for their buck (Performance, battery life, & cart life) I would recommend the VX2.

But I would also recommend that they buy both and enjoy the best features of both units! Right now there just isn't any ONE e-cig available that does it all, so I think everyone needs at least a couple in their collection. The VX2 and 510 would be my recommendations right now.

But that might change once I can get my hands on a Janty Stick which has a 510 atomizer on it....

I read somewhere that they would be making an 510 adapter for the Stick eventually. You might want to send Janty an email just to confirm that.

Sure, I saw somewhere the '510 killer' or maybe just the comparison. The J118 mostly resembles someone trying to clone a 510, with minor differences (mouthpiece style), and coming reasonably close. But then again, every e-cig is at least 'close' to another one...(but these parts interchange, too :-) )

I can see that as a possibility on vapor at least, with a good atty on the J118. For me, it's lower, and not as thick or dense *feeling*, either, but at least on vapor amount, it's getting closer with cleaned atty. And, argh, you reminded me, forgot to test the other cleaned attys. It may be more variance in production on the J118 attys at this point?

Will report back RE: throat hit on the other attys.

Pretty much agree with the above, about deciding what's important. My cart life on the J118 hasn't been more, if at all, vs the 510 though - have you really seen much of a difference? Capacity is nearly identical between them... ?

And yeah, waiting on a JS 510 adapter myself, just seems to be no updates on when..

    I now have a Dura-C 510 and a j118. I've had the j118 longer, but I think I've had the 510 long enough to compare and contrast.

I use and love them both, but they fulfill different roles. The things the 510 is great for the J118 is not, and vice versa.

J118, I can fill with some lower nic juice, hang it out of the corner of my mouth clenched in my teeth, plug up the hole with my tongue and do things that require both hands for extended periods of time:

    Driving,
    Coding,
    Writing,
    Your Mom (kidding).

I just take slow drags occasionally. The atomizer doesn't ever get crazy hot, and the battery lasts forever (3-4 hours for me now) using it in the fashion. I don't even think about it anymore, the entire process is automatic. Sitting at my desk at work doing this now.

The 510 is my leisure machine. I'm kicking back watching a movie, or out and about and can't have a glowtip "pen" hanging out of my mouth. I fill it up with 24mg and blast my lungs here and there. It's friggin great for this. Ton of nicotine in a very short time. I top myself off with it the way you top off a cart. Great right before walking into a two hour staff meeting, or hopping on a plane, walking out of a parking garage, or in the bathroom at the mall. Great for a deliberate smoke right after a meal. It also means I can carry two distinct flavors at once, reducing the chance either flavor will become "tasteless" like I've heard happens with RY4 to some people after a while.

I *tried* to take advantage of the interchangeable parts and make a 510/j118 hybrid "do all" with the j118 battery, mouthpiece, and cart on the 510 atty and it got too hot too fast, and the battery died too fast.

So I carry them both. I'm way too hooked on the convenience of having a "dangler" I can draw on absent-mindedly and forget about, and I can't give up the utility of having a "lung-blaster" like the 510 for "topping myself off" when I'm going to be unable to vap for a while, or I just want a superior hit when my hands are free.

I'll have the Janty Stick soon. While it could be a complete drop in replacement for the 510's role, I don't really see that happening. I'll probably end up carrying all three. the JS looks like it might fit a watch pocket really well. Having a third flavor, and another "high nic blast" device just means I get to carry three flavors at once, which I'm very cool with.

@Zofryer - and therein is the issue - when you effectively use the J118 like the 510, the battery life is nearly equal.

I do kinda like the auto/hands off/hang from lip..too bad there's no way to do a sealed auto battery (check valve, perhaps?) yet. You can also pop out the mouthpiece disk from a 510 cart and get just the mouthpiece (not cart) from the J118 into the 510 cart.

OOooh, that's nice. I had been stuffing the 118 mouthpiece and cart inside the 510 atty. Removing the endcap and putting the mouthpiece in there is much better. I find myself using the 510 more because I don't have to worry about the auto switch coming on when I'm doing the idle hand spinning thing.

    Thumbs up Love My VX2

I absolutely love my VX2, mine works great! I don't know if it makes any difference but I got mine from LITECIG USA and I couldn't be more pleased with the VX2 and the prompt service from Shawn @ Litecig.

The only thing I don't like is that the blank carts don't come with any caps. It would be nice to be able to fill up several carts and keep them in your pocket without worrying about the juice running out and down your leg.
