the little green light is telling the truth.. when it says charged its charged..
and if someone does find a way to deep discharge a lithium cell they will have one dead cell..running them flat destroyed them..
i would say a bit more about lithium batteries but having said it all a few dozen times before without the slightest effect there aint much point... he he

Trog, I was being ironic when I commented "yeah, right" to my geeen light telling me that my battery was charged.... I noticed that the light turns green earlier and earlier as my battery ages (I can almost see a daily decline). I leave it there for 4 hours to go through the motions, but I am convinced that the thing does not charge.
I know you have spoken at length about batteries (maybe it was your post where I read that there was no point in fully discharging a battery). I have considered the Screwdriver, but the description seems to imply it's mainly a device for heavy nicotine users. I am trying to go down on my nic, but I may have to give in and get one (it is very cool-looking, by the way). Every one of the customers who have posted here seem delighted with it.... I am using a penstyle and -as I said- have virtually no problem with atomizers, but I do appear to kill batteries just by existing in the same room with them.... Maybe I'll wait for the dollar to go a bit higher still, and then I may take the plunge....

Update -- After a week of happy vaping trouble starts. Several of my batteries won't turn on sometimes unless I puff several times first. This is likely my fault as I drip and may have dripped too much getting juice into the switch. Smoke production also declined from great to OK. No slight on Cash as I still feel it is a good value for the money.
Anyway, I am tired of fooling with batteries so I took the plunge and ordered a Kissbox Extended with the USB cable. Right now I'm puffing on my old Kissbox while I wait on my order.

Update -- After letting my Puresmoker rest a couple of days it is back in action and smoking as good as new. It puts out much more smoke than my Kissbox. Guess I dripped too much after all. I remember I had juce comming out where the atomizer and battery connected. Anyway, no worries now

the few batteries ive pulled apart so far , all used.
had a reasonable amount of dampness around the switch area
i guess over a period of time this could lead to failure of the switch
there is a chip in there , i have no idea what it does but if it gets enveloped in liquid well that cant be good for it

some simple facts about e cig batteries..
first they are too small for the job they have to do.. they wear out quickly.. with heavy all day and every day use very quickly...
classic or pen style e cigs have bigger batteries than the mini type does.. they will at a rough guess live at least twice as long as the mini type..
charging is fully automatic... when the green light comes on the battery is fully charged.. job done..
how they wear out.. in simple terms they lose their capacity with each recharge.. in essence they become smaller batteries with less capacity each time they are charged..
this results in three things.. less run time.. less charge time.. and a more rapid exponential (ever increasing) wear rate as the battery capacity drops off..
now ask your self why this simple but truthful information dosnt get a sticky..
trog
ps.. this applies to all e cigs.. there is no magic "better" battery.. simply bigger ones.. more expensive e cigs dont have better batteries simply more expensive batteries..
ps.. 2.. this is a problem all sellers have to deal with.. they have differnet ways of doing this...

Well I solved that problem Trog with some links from Kate. Bought and estended kissbox with the USB adapter, some new batteries for the USB and a charger. Now I don't have to use the factory batteries at all.

Do you know if this thing restricts the current to 500mA? I'm curious as to whether these things could potentially kill a computer.

It's amazing the faith you have in those little green lights, Trog. And amazing how you totally ignore anyone who tells you they have experienced anything else.
Just the other week I got two brand new mini-cig batteries. I decided to test your magic little light. I really should have filmed it, because it couldn't have been a better demonstration of how wrong you are about this.
I put the first one on the charger, pulled it off when the light turned green after 1 hour, and replacedit with the second. I started using the first battery. It seemed to work ok, but it only lasted one hour.
The green light had already turned green on the other one, so I swapped them. Again, it only lasted one hour, and the first one was already green again on the charger.
That's how it went all night, one hour charging, one hour use.
At the end of the night, I left the first battery on the charger overnight, giving it the reccommended 8 hours, and swapped them in the morning.
Now, the first battery was performing lots better than the day before; although I thought it was working good on the one hour charges, a fully charged battery worked much better than it had been and lasted a good 4 hours. I waited until the second had also charged for 8 hours and it also performed better and lasted about 3 hours.
Those lights are not always right, and especially on the first charge they should be ignored. Otherwise you are going to have undercharged batteries, and are setting yourself up for a dissapointing experience.
For gods sake, Trog, there's not one single part of any of this technology which always works, why can't you accept that about the charger lights?
My advice is to always give it the usual 8 hours for the first charge, and about 3-4 hours for recharging.

Well for my Janty Charger, I plug in a low battery, light goes red. After an hour or two goes green, after another hour or two goes dim green, then it's fully charged
