Default My thoughs on the KR808D-1

I got tired of dripping and refilling when I went out so I thought the 2 piece KR808D-1 would be a better alternative. Throw a few cartomizers in the PCC with an extra battery and I'm good to go.

I bought the Elite Kit from Nhaler. The kit comes in a nice box with velvety dividers holding the 2 batteries, the charger, a 5 pack of cartomizers and a manual. (does anyone really read these things?) Time to charge the batteries. The charger included is a 2 piece universal charger. It can either be used by plugging it into the wall or by plugging it into a USB slot on your PC. The great thing about this charger is that it will charge almost any battery. There are no threads in the charger, just what seems to be a silicone sleeve that tightly grips the battery and a spring loaded pin which will conform to the battery configuration.

The PCC that comes with unit is nice and compact. The battery in the PCC get charged via a USB connector. Easily fits right into your shirt pocket and will charge 1 battery and hold 2 carts of your favorite flavors.

My first impression on vaping my new little toy was that the draw was quite easy. Little vapor at first but a few primer puffs later started produce nice amounts of vapor. The kit came with "Kent" cartos which I though was great as I like the Kent juice Drew supplies at NHaler. This Kent was just not the same. A little harsh for my liking. I was impressed just the same.

After a thorough cleaning and drying of the factory Kent flavor ( I cleaned out 5 carts), I loaded them up with various flavors of NHaler Liquids. AAhhhh.........now your talking. Fabulous flavors and a nice throat hit. This is what an eCig should be.

All in all, this is my eCig favorite so far. It's easy to use, very portable, and an overall great vaping experience.

Thanks for posting this review. I received my KR808D-1 (from healthcabin.net) last week and my feelings are still mixed. The flavor seems far more clean and tasty than my 510 or M401 - but vapor production is almost nonexistent compared to those other models, which makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong. I also need to draw straight into my lungs in order to feel any real throat hit.

There seems to be a lot of positive feedback about the KR808D-1, so I'm thinking I need to research a bit more to discover if there is a special technique I need to be using to use it effectively.

I am with you jphurley. I bought a couple of kits from vapor4life. The vapor production is almost non-existent compaired to my 510. The manual batteries are even worse than the automatics. The flavor seems to be very good on the ones that I cleaned out and added juice from nhaler but can't seem to get the vapor like I do with the 510. I need that vapor to make me feel like I am smoking. I have stuck with these for a few days but have a feeling they will be hitting the shelf shortly.

Glad I'm not the only one! Vapor improved a bit when I screwed the cartomizer on as tight as I could. Another tip I was given was to take very slow and deep drags...which also improves it...but the super slow drag feels unnatural and a bit awkward. Between the KR808D, M401 and Joye 510 I've tried so far...the 510 is still my favorite and vapes most comfortably.

I know comparing a KR808 with other models that sometimes the vape can't compete, but one thing that I find (which I can't wait when a cart is ready for) is to refill or fill an empty with your favorite liquid from your favorite vender... the KRs are easy to fill... and the ADD point for the KRs over the 3pc models is the ease of use and clean portability... it may or may not be a replacement, but is handy to have as an alternative vape... I vape from different atty models, but tend to reach for a cartomizer most often

There is more talk in the KR specific forum (see link in signature block)

Having gotten a kr808d-1 battery a month or so ago to use as a spare/longer-lasting battery for my 901 attys, today is the first time I've used it with any actual cartomizers. Picked up a pack of 16mg RY4 carts for it from VaporKings while placing an order for some new 901 parts just to see what the KR was all about, and after a day with it I have to say: it may not produce the vapor of my 901, but I'm satisfied with it nonetheless (i.e., I may not see as much vapor as I'm used to, but I can for sure feel it in my throat & chest which is what *I* need to feel like I'm smoking a cig). So yeah, as already mentioned here, the portability factor of this model is a huge plus and man are they easy to use. Very very pleased to have it, and it is definitely a welcome addition to my (small but growing) collection of PVs. Would certainly recommend it to anyone who's already got a 901 setup--the batts will work with your 901 attys, charge on your 901 charger, and the cartomizers are relatively inexpensive considering the convenience they bring to the table.

Just though I would post a follow up on my Vapor King. I got 6 additional carts from V4L this weekend. These carts taste fantastic and produce much more vapor than the original carts I have received from them. Perhaps I got a bad batch. They don't come close to the amount of vapor the greencig carts do on the same batteries but they do produce a very enjoyable vapor.

Here I thought I just got bad cartos or bad batteries, I've tried auto and manual. Glad to know the KR808 is just known for not producing as much vapor....

The VK really can produce a good amount of vapor if you get the draw down perfectly on the right cart, but it really pales in comparison to a 510.

I use my 510 almost all the time but when I'm in a rush or I need to head out unexpectedly, it's nice to be able to grab a VK battery and a couple cartos.

I certainly like the 510 more, but the VK is a "good enough" alternative for the situations I mentioned and I always like to have some cartomizers ready to go.

I have tons of 510 stuff and think it is great. However, as so many others have said before me, taking a 510 out and spending time dripping, filling, and changing batteries is not my idea of enjoyable. The VK beats the 510 a hundred times over for public use IMO
