Any supplier research you need can be done on these forums. The info here will provide valuable info, and feedback, from folks who have dealt with almost every source, both local and worldwide. Will your friend be able to determine who best supports their sales? How responsive they are to defective replacements? How quickly they respond to problems in general? Will he be able to spot genuine product from cheap clones? And if your friend will be doing the buying and shipping to you will he be responsible if the item doesn't clear customs?

(edit: willy already answered above while I was writing this ^^^ )

I don't know what he meant, maybe just that you can buy directly from China where they are manufactured?

Heaven-gifts.com, Healthcabin.net and eastmall.net are several very popular and well respected vendors located in China.
In the case of the m40x series you can even buy from the manufacturer themselves- absolutelyecigs.com is the storefront for Smoore who makes them.

I personally was buying my 401 stuff from Shawn at LiteCig- he has the biggest selection of genuine smoore and he's in the US so you don't have to pay the $15 in shipping. He has a subforum here:
    LiteCig - e-cigarette-forum.com

But now I've switched over to the KR808D-1 which I buy from V4L. They're here in the states, and their quality control and customer service are excellent. They're really active here in the forums too:
    Vapor4Life - e-cigarette-forum.com

When I was buying 510 stuff I got it from Terri at CigNot. They have a $35 510 started kit and a huge selection of Dekang eliquids at great prices. They're really nice ladies as well.

I personally haven't used the 801 or 901 but they are pretty popular around here and I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction for getting the best deal. There are some cheap knockoffs of those models out there so I'd try to get a recommendation from somebody before going there.

    Hope this helps.

    Cool Reasons

The reason I have friends in Taiwan researching the prices is to see if there is a way to cut the costs for ecig use even further. I have found that I was able to get a 5-25% lower cost on many items in Taiwan. On a few occasions, I was able to get about 50% savings. (admittedly VERY rare) When it comes to ecigs, I think that savings ranks 3rd, right behind quality and availability. And yes, my friends will be able to verify the authenticity of brands and are willing to 'guarantee' the shipments. They are dynamic young professionals, with ties in both the academic and business communities... To imply that they are unable to do so is patronistic and somewhat insulting.

    uh.

I think the implication was simply that friends will not be able to give you the kind of support that a supplier will, nor the kind of feedback that ECF members will.

But hey, if you two wanna duke it out, whatever.

Are you planning on becoming a retailer/distributor? If so do you have any friends in Shenzhen, mainland China, which is the hub of all things e-cig?

It's not a trivial task. The numerous Joye 510 clones (seems like new ones pop up daily) take a bit of knowledge and experience with real Joyes to determine the real deal. A magnifying glass and a strong light help.

You realize that these things can be tied up in customs for days, months or forever. That the shipment came from "dynamic young professionals" means squat to US Customs.

Well good luck in your quest, sorry if I offended.

P.S. 'patronistic' is not a real word.

Based on the reviews for Vapor4Life, I went to the site and realized I don't know enough about the model to just go ahead and buy it. I have been researching e cigs since July...driving me AND my family crazy trying to find the "right" one. What model is featured on this site? You can tell I'm a newbie...so please HELP! I have to quit cigs ASAP and love smoking but hate the effects. Thanks for any help you can give. I think I want a pen style, and I think I want a manual.

    Hi determined,

The V4L sells 2 piece models, otherwise known as the KR808d-1. Other people sell this model but I personally buy from them because they have excellent customer service, a large variety of choices, and they are really on top of quality control.

The VaporKing (kr808d-1) is made up of 2 pieces: the battery and the cartomizer.
Inside the cartomizer is an atomizer and the filler which holds the liquid.
You have 2 options when using this model- you can either just throw the carto away when it's empty or you can refill it with more liquid.
    Most people refill.

If you'd like to find out more about V4L and their choices come say hi over here. There are lots of people in that forum that would be happy to help:

Thank you Birdy. Would you recommend it as a good first e cig purchase? I want to make this work, and there are so many people on here that have had bad experiences with their first kits. Once I throw away the EVE'S, I don't want to get discouraged! I appreciate the link...will check it now.

Absolutely. It is hands down the easiest one out there. You'll get it, screw on a cartomizer and vape. It's honestly that easy.

If you stick with vaping and grow to love it as much as everyone around here you will be collecting different models over time, as you should. But a lot of people start with this and are satisfied enough to never try anything else.

If you want something that has a high rate of immediate satisfaction, ease of use and quality, then this model (KR808D-1, whoever you get it from) is the one I personally recommend to start. And now that it's popular many of the mods out there have cartomizer adapters so you will also be able to use those too.

If you want to try it out V4L has a lot of starter kits on sale right now for the holidays. You don't have to order the big kits with everything. You could just order a charger, battery and a box or cartos and you'd be good to go.

WHOOHOO! Finally! I guess this is my day. And just in time. I have allergies that are really bad right now. Can hardly wait to get my nicotine AND breathe! Thank you so much Birdy. Everyone on here seems to have so many good ideas...but you just became my favorite person!
