    Default Ruyan e-pipe

I am writing to recommend the Ruyan e-pipe to pipesmokers seeking an e-smoking experience (or even cigarette smokers looking for a change of pace). I am a longtime pipesmoker, and I have had and been enjoying my Ruyan e-pipe for about 3 weeks now. I have also ordered the e-pipes sold by .......... and Crown7 and compared the three. The Ruyan e-pipe is the most expensive by far, but, in my opinion, it also performs the best. Specifically, it provides the best flavor from the "smoke."

I would have thought that the brand of liquid "smoked" would be more important than the brand of e-pipe you're smoking it in. But I found that I got a more flavorful, sweeter smoke from the Ruyan pipe whether I was using the standard Ruyan catridges (which have a very nice flavor with a hint of maple-syrup taste) or cartridges/liquid from e-cig. (The e-cig chocolate is a delicious change of pace. I have on order a sampler of all the e-cig flavors, and I'm really looking forward to trying them.) Of course, YMMV.

In general, I have found the e-pipe to be a very satisfying substitute for smoking a "real" pipe. The smoking action takes some getting used to. In particular, with a real pipe, you puff out slightly between puffs in, providing the "bellows" effect that keeps a pipe lit. With the e-pipe, puffing out is both unnecessary and frustrating. Also, the e-pipe "smoke" will be more flavorful if you hold it in your mouth a bit longer than you might with a real pipe. At first I found smoking the e-pipe a little frustrating--and non-relaxing--because of these differences. But once I got the hang of it I really started enjoying it. I still smoke a real pipe, but much less (most days, only one real pipeful as a nightcap for the evening). In some respects, I even prefer the e-pipe, e.g., it gives a consistently smoother "smoke"--never too hot or wet or with nasty tastes from a pipe stem that needs to have tar cleaned out of it, no worries about keeping it lit, etc. (The point about not having to worry about keeping it lit might also appeal to smokers used to cigarettes or cigars. I know that many people who try smoking a traditional pipe give up in frustration because packing it and keeping it lit is a skill that takes practice.)

Bottom line, I would recommend the e-pipe to anyone interested in trying it. Of the ones I've tried, I personally prefer the Ruyan. But you might find one of the other versions satisfactory too.

P.S. I will add that if your main interest is amount of "smoke" produced, the Crown7 and e-cig e-pipes do produce more and more realistic smoke than the Ruyan

Langdell: Any update on how the three e-pipes are holding up? My e-Pipe from E-Cig is doing fine. Keep cartridge filled with liquid and it happily does its vapor thing.

Aha! Now that might explain why I have tried to place an order 6 times in the last week and couldn't get one of them to go through......and why we couldn't register to use the e-cig forum.

Almost panicked on reading this. Went to E-Cig and placed a big order. It went through fine and I received confirmation email. I long ago registered at the forum and it's been operating well.

I mean, WHERE ELSE CAN WE GET E-LIQUID at a reasonable price? Almost panicked. Feesmoke is outrageous. Ruyan doesn't appear to sell liquid. Where are there 50ml bottles for $20? Anyone know of a place?

I hope also that e.cig will return to answer emails and forum inquiries... If someone has news about this matter please post..

I had the same reaction as tropicalbob and put in a order for 2 50ml bottles. I received a order confirmation. Let's hope we get a shipping confirmation too. Maybe we should start a list of e-liquid suppliers. This is making me nervous.

BTW I reopened a new one.

    Default .......... in hot water

    Hi Swami,
Hmmm, this doesn't sound good. A few weeks ago I ordered about 300ml of e-liquid from them, which should last me a while, but I'd hate to see them go under. I've seen a number of threads concerning them about trying to intentionally mislead customs and courier services by mislabelling the description and value of the products they're shipping. This may have got them into some serious hot water. Lets hope we hear something positive from them soon.

    Mark
